What moves do you think the Nets would’ve made?

Nice thing is in about four years after KD and Kyrie's contracts are up, they can still pursue free agent stars in 2023. It sure as hell feels nice when a smart GM like Marks makes not only smart but timely signings.

I was quite looking forward to Marks performing his usual wizardry.

Probably a mix of good value contracts at the big man position, at shooter, and in terms of character / leadership. Bringing back DMC and Ed Davis on smart contracts could have been quite useful and a culture continuity. And then finally, arranging it with DLo to wait for a bit until after the signings, then sign him and jumping over the cap.

Not as sexy as what happened of course, but I think you can argue that it would have been the more stable move for the long haul. Not a treadmill move either, but still giving yourself an opportunity to be a fringe conference contender.

Still, that's not really the way the game is played, these days. In the Hinkie and post-Hinkie era (etc), you seemingly either go for it all or crash hard for resources.

They would have gone after Tobias Harris, and falling in that, would have went for Randle and used the rest of the cap space by taking on Mo Harkless for the first rounder.
