EVERYONE loses in a blowout at some points throughout the season. And the Suns ARE good this year. Their defense is good, and they have some really nice offensive pieces too. Balanced team with depth. Their front office did a good job putting that team together and it's showing dividends this year.
As bad as Kyrie was last game, he's overall played great, and for the most part, we've played decent so far, just some tough losses that we suffered cuz we took our foot off the pedal and let the other teams back in it. We definitely still have room for improvement. We did just beat Houston and Portland, both Western Conference playoff teams from last year.
You can't make sweeping statements about an entire season based on one bad loss, just like you can't get carried away with one good win.
I think the issue, is the drastic contrast between the two teams. Yes, it's one game, but it has been a constant for this nets team all season.
The suns moved the ball so well and rotated on defense well.
Meanwhile, the Nets as they have done all season relied on ISO a lot.
This Nets team is winning (and losing) in talent alone. When things have gotten tough, it has been our best players carrying the load. Some games that has been enough, other not so much.
The crazy thing is that it didn't look like this in preseason. Yes it was preseason, but the ball was popping so much back then.
Kenny and the staff really need to evaluate themselves and the roster and figure out why it isn't gelling.
