Automatic foul on Allen for sure.

Absolute bull ****.

Not sure if teams sent film to the league or if the league told the referees but Allen is DEFINITELY being targeted. He probably been called for more moving screens this week than he did all of last season. All of them are super soft too. Stuff you could call on literally every single possession.
Teams have done this against us for the entirety of Kenny's stint when our guys go under screens. It's complete and utter BS that somehow Allen is a poster child for these so called "illegal screens"

I fell asleep a little before halftime... we were up like 20 points at one point. WTF happened?!?!

Early season growing pains, I get it, but come on. We need to be competing with these teams and closing out games.

Things I noticed early on too -- Dinwiddie doing TOO MUCH ISO and just trying to do too much again. It's getting frustrating, he needs to know his role.
Kyrie hit Jordan on a few slick rolls to the rim that went RIGHT THROUGH his hands. Dude come on. Need to catch and finish in traffic.

I'm a super patient guy and it's only been about 10 games, but we should have way more than 4 freaking wins. Come on.

We should be 6-4 at worst, but oh well. We need to get back these two losses versus DEN and CHI. It's annoying to be under .500

Levert has been trash offensively so far. Temple has been better on both ends of the court.

Either way, it's not about being a good offensive player. Sometimes our bench needs an offensive spark from the bench, it can't always be Dinwiddie. And if Temple has better synergy with the starting unit than Levert, then we should go for it.

Exactly.

Harden and Ginobili were better overall basketball players than the SG's who started over them, when they were 6th men. The needs of the rest of the starting lineup dictated that they were better serving the team by being in the 2nd unit. Garrett is not as skilled as Caris, but swapping LeVert out for Temple has yielded almost 18 fewer points per 100 possessions defensively, while remaining elite offensively. The ball doesn't stick with Garrett. He moves off-ball and provides a safety valve kickout pass for Kyrie's drives. He defends. He defends. He (and I cannot stress this enough) defends!

Caris is going to recover from this thumb injury, and the team will have started to gel without him by then. He is a major piece for us, and learning from Temple while he's out will be key to his re-integration.

yea this is absolutely ridiculous. Gobert was doing this ALL GAME and does this ALL THE TIME. You right, Allen has been called for moving screen waaaaaayyyy too many times. And it's been like this the last few games, I think in the Phoenix game he had like 2 moving screens in a row and he's not one to complain, but he even threw his arms up . He's definitely being targeted and it's unfair, the league needs to look into this because this ain't fair at all. You got Gobert flopping around like a little fish while Allen plays the right way and gets called for breathing. This game was rigged , plain and simple. 27 fouls going their way is complete BS, it's no way around it.

Not sure this is a very good example. Watch Ky on the play. At the point of what could be deemed illegal contact how much does it disrupt Irving's rhythm, speed, balance or quickness? To my eyes he moves over it fluidly. If that exact play was called on our defender, I'd call bs.

I think this Temple over LeVert stuff is an overreaction. Someone wrote an article about it and it got some buzz. Sample size was WAY too small.

The starters were pretty damn good until they got destroyed by Phoenix. Still for the year it's a +11 in 97 minutes. Not great. Closer to average. But still good.

Temple's starting lineup is now at -9. The offensive rating of that lineup is now bottom of the league terrible because they got killed in the 2nd half of last night's game. The numbers say that lineup is awful. And in Utah, it didn't look great.

If you want to argue that LeVert is a better fit off the bench, cool. But the numbers need to be put into context. I personally thought the +11 (total) for the year was pretty encouraging after that terrible PHX game and slow starts for Caris and Allen.

Offensive and defensive rating is a better judge in a small sample size, since these +/- stats have more to do with situation and role.

Levert vs Temple

It clearly favors Temple, 124 offensive (elite), 111 defensive (solid, not spectacular). Levert is putting up a 95 offensive (bad for ANY player, let alone for a starter), 115 defensive (below average). CLV is clearly more gifted, but he's coughing up the ball like crazy, shooting slightly worse than GT and doesn't turn over the opposition with steals or blocks at even 1/3 the rate that Garrett does. These are fixable things long-term, but I think he was digging himself and us into a rut. A savvier, more efficient vet could show him the way.

Also, check out this NetsDaily article about the situation.

The fact he's sticking out his hip is a foul period :noway:
