This is 100% true. James Harden has the ability to completely take over games and dominate. He was double-teamed every night. For some reason on the Nets he’s choosing to be the third wheel and instead deferring to everyone else.

One thing he was great at in Houston was having a sense of when to get others involved and when to take over by himself. For whatever reason in Brooklyn, he hasn’t really tried to assert his scoring dominance.

I must be watching a different game because DJ is part of the problem. Sure, he has his moments, as he did tonight as well. But there's a lot of bad that goes on when DJ is in games. He literally cannot contest any shooters, whether its his own matchup, on switches, or off screens. He's very lazy on help defense, and while he's a better rebounder than other options, we still routinely give up offensive rebounds with him in, as he has his ball watching moments. Offensively, as a rim runner, outside of lob passes or high passes, he cannot catch the ball either. I'm not saying that we cannot play him more, but I completely do understand why we don't. We desperately need a high energy, mobile big on this roster. A Javale McGee or Nerlens Noel would do.

He isnt the best defensive rebounder. but he is 500 times better then the alternative
He isnt the best shot blocker. but he is 1000 times better then the alternative
He is the only threat to finish inside with a dunk if you dont stick to him as an opposing big, even if he fumbles some

when he is in, you get punished for helping with your bigs on harden/kyrie drives. when he is out, you dont.

he has some bad games too. when he does, ride green. but when we are getting demolished with green on the floor and came back/took the lead with DJ, you at least go back to DJ to see how it goes

again, not saying play DJ 32 minutes a night. but give him at least 20 minutes and let him see the floor in the 4th, ESPECIALLY with durant out when we dont have a PF in addiiton to not having a center. Harris/Green cant be your PF/C for 30 minutes

I don't disagree with you on some of these things. DJ did play 18 minutes last night btw, so it is close to the 20. I think lately we've been overplaying Green a lot, so I don't disagree. We had Perry in the rotation who was complete garbage, and now he has been taken out, his minutes have all gone to Green. To me, the solution is getting another capable center like the ones I mentioned (a McGee or Noel). Maybe Pelle can help but I'm skeptical on that. Nash wasn't opposed to playing centers until very recently when Perry just got taken out of the rotation. So my thinking is that it has to do more with the quality of our center options, and once that improves, we won't be going small as often.

Haven’t thought about this game since it ended, it’s whatever to me at this point, it’s the RS, **** happens. I do know that we likely win this game with Durant in, but we should have won anyway, your team isn’t that good, but they played over their heads and stole the game.
