If TJ is available, I'm actually confused as to why he's not playing. Solid defender, solid 3pt shooter, can run some basic plays. Mike James has been very good all things considered actually, but TJ is a solid basketball player too, he should play if he's available.

That's just off the top of my head I'm sure there's more
After the big 3 I think he's the least replaceable guy on the roster
He really bothered Luka, too. He's a special caliber of defender.

We probably could have won 3/5 of those games in the losing streak if theyre hitting shots. They make it impossible to guard Kyrie and Durant when theyre draining threes.
A shame they have been so off lately.
You're right, HB.
For dedicated snipers like Joe and Landry, rhythm and playmaking to support them is everything. We see Kyrie and Kevin find open looks for them, but James actually orchestrates the movement and pulls the defense to free them. He also knows their shooting pockets better than anyone else, Harden is a GD savant.
I also think that Nash is noticing that staggering the pair brings out the best in both. For one, both are decent defenders, but can be targeted. Having two of those guys, especially with Irving on the floor too, is a green light for the opposition to run layup drills. Two, they cannibalize each other's looks, and end up freezing each other out because they don't shoot as often.
They both had bad shooting nights tonight, but at least they kept firing and didn't drop their level in other areas.

Poor Kai. Damn. He got rocked on that elbow. Right on the cheekbone/orbital. He could well be placed on concussion protocol. Get well!

James can get past his defender and can get into the defense which can create shots for others. TJ is more of a spot up shooter who hustles on defense. I would argue that there's more of a need for James right now, but that changes once Harden returns and Kyrie is 100%.

While I agree that Shamet has been horrible, we actually do need him in the playoffs. so if the plan is to let him shoot his way out of this slump, i am all for it.

He didn’t shoot his way out last time. He sat his butt on the bench for a few games and then came back and hit his threes again. Sometimes shooting their way out doesn’t work.
Shamet and Harris both are shooting short. They need rest I think. Joe has played every game. He’s the only net that can say that. Give him a break. His shots aren’t falling due to tired legs. He did contribute with mid range shots last night though. Played well just his shot is falling short. Shamet is also short. Idk why he’s tired but he can rest also. I would pull Shamet two of the last three games and put TJ in his place.

Not when TJ is sitting there on the bench.
If Shamet isnt hitting shots he's useless tbh. I saw enough of that when he was on the Clips last playoffs.

Shamet is having a bad 5 game stretch. this is a monumental over-reaction. he shot 40% in feb, 43% in march and 42% in april.
he is 5-22 in 5 games in may. he will be fine.
Tyler johnson is 7-23 in his last 5 games. so not like he is some super better option at the moment vs. letting shamet play through a handful off offnights
