He is going to focus on getting the role players involved and buying in. This is a marathon and one game means nothing. The other thing is his extension. This is not about money for him. He didn’t sign because he wants some control over the direction of the team. I can see him sacrificing money at a later point to make sure the team gets more assets to improve our odds. This is a guy that wants to win a chip and he’s going to do whatever it takes. We are lucky to have him. I have faith we have what it takes and things will fall into place as we go forward.
Never said trade Harden, I said he will opt out which makes him a FA and maybe he could structure his contract to help the Nets if Ky doesn’t come back. Anything can happen between now and 2022 FA. To say the Nets won’t find another solid or star player in today’s world where they have become a prime destination would be ridiculous. This is not the 2009 Nets.
If Harden opts out, We still have cap hold for him on the books and he still counts against our cap for a huge number, unless we renounce him, in which case we may not be able to bring him back either.
the only way we could obtain lavine, is via trade.
