I disagree here. Maxey is pretty much what Cam is just inch shorter. Might agreed on Thybulle but than again we just drafted Kess.

Neither Cam or Maxey PO ready imo and it'll be interesting thing to watch and compare how they develop.

I like Cam more simply because he actually can pass in limited role for now. He took exception to it during interview which obviously speak for itself.

Did you see Maxey play? I watched many 76er games lately.

Maxey & Harden backcourt is a poor man's Kyrie & Harden backcourt but Maxey is only 21 and growing every game. I have not talked about his defense...Cam can not do **** if you pair him with Harden.

The truth is Maxey will get paid super star money at this rate while Cam will just be Cam.

I dont think anyone is questioning that,... or knocking Harden for wanting to be somewhere else.

But it is a criminal offense is sports to quit/tank/be out of shape/check out to force a trade when you are on a team that is a top 4 seed paying you max money.

There is just no defense for that, no excuse for that, and no coming back from that. The pass Harden is getting for doing that, after doing it just 1 year prior, is absurd and he should thank the heavens that this team has so many issues and things going on (KDs injury, Ben coming back/being out, the mandate dropping but not really, etc....) that he isnt the primary focus of it all, because if he was, he'd be picked clean by predators by now.

Like let me put this in perspective. On January 15th, the day KD got hurt the Nets were in 2nd place, 1/2 game behind a Bulls team they just destroyed. KD gets hurt, then the following happens:

-Harden works back channels to try and get traded
-He publicly denys all reports and pretends he is actually commited when he clearly is not
-His play takes a nose dive. he has one of the worst months of his career
-He sits out a couple games with a "hand injury" as rumors heat up
-He starts flying to Vegas between games and not traveling with his teammates
-He flat out QUITS. Q-U-I-T-S on his team in Sacramento. like walking on the court
-In the middle of a 10 game losing streak as we plummet into the play-in game he continues to fly to vegas between games and quit/dog it on the court
-Finally he is traded
-Blake, Patty, Brown all make comments about how the locker room is better
-in like 10 days in Philly Harden works his way back into shape and looks like he did on last years Nets

That is disgusting. to further underscore it, i give you this. After dogging it vs the Kings, in what was our 6th straight loss, Harden flies to vegas to go to strip clubs, After Philly's last game from the Bulls, Harden spent 1 hour running the stadium steps for conditioning.

Harden is a complete dog. his actions are no where even close to being justified and he at the top of the Deron/Kidd totum poll of stealing from the team, giving the middle finger to the fans and quitting on this franchise.

If you want to leave, be a pro. this being the second time in 2 years doesnt help him either

All of this is correct.

So my question is to everyone:

Why on earth would you want Harden to remain here after he did all of that?

I don't want him here. that doesnt mean he didnt still do damage.

Thats like me saying, i hate that guy, he burned our house down! and you being like "well, he is gone now so why do you care? you shouldnt want him here he burned our house down!" who care the house is burned down!

Harden cost us like 10-15 losses with his quitting, being out of shape and flying to vegas between games. its gross and he doesnt get a pass because "well we shouldnt have wanted him here if he wanted to leave".

Harden did damage here, and he needs to get the criticism for it. it is the worst offense to this team in its NBA history. Hell even Chris Morris played hard when he wrote "trade me" on his sneakers. Harden is a bum, and goes into the hall of fame of nets bums on the first ballot.

I don't even think Deron Williams is that bad at all compared to Harden. Injuries and the subsequent psychological impact it had on him were by far the biggest issues for Deron. I think he gets a ton of hate from Nets fans because of how disappointing his tenure was given the expectations we had of him when he came in. He never actually played like the star we thought we were getting outside of a random post-ASB stretch in a season we lost to a depleted Bulls team in the playoffs after he got outplayed by Nate Robinson. The fact that he openly whined and sulked when he first got here only to never actually come close to living up to his billing when he did get help I think is what made fans turn on him. But he actually at least did show up to play when he could, and actually contributed to playoff teams.

Harden honestly gave us...nothing. After we paid a king's ransom for him. Unless y'all are happy with the 30 something RS games he gave us last year when he actually played like an MVP. In a year he got hurt and could barely play in the playoffs anyway, and actively hurt us when he did play. Then he came in out of shape again and decided to quit on the team and force his way out again once things got hard.

There's honestly a chasm between Deron's contributions and Harden's contributions to this franchise. Deron is nowhere close to as bad as Harden. Anyone who thinks he was, or thinks Harden was somehow better for this franchise, isn't being objective.

I agree Deron wasn't so bad.

IIRC he had two serious physical issues that team docs were concerned about (wrist & ankle I think), but Team Prokhy evidently kind of just hand-waved them away. One of those was well known but the other wasn't until a couple years later I believe, until one of the writers mentioned it on ND. Point is, it fits a lot with how impatient and reckless the Prokhy years were, typically grasping for flawed talent, and goes a long ways to excuse Deron's mediocre play IMO.

Of course there's also the fact that Utah's system probably bumped up his value, and that Deron just wasn't a natural leader. All three things could have been considered by Team Prokhy, but it sounds like they just wanted what they wanted at the time as a way to recover from missing Melo, Dwight, etc.

Marks was obviously a serious upgrade overall, but I think he pulled a 'Prokhy' when he traded a major haul for Harden in what was arguably a partly opportunistic / partly desperate trade. Harden had some fairly significant red flags, not unlike Kyrie and even Durant (the injury recovery), and it seems like he kind of just assumed he and his team would be able to work them out.

Welp...

Crazy how Philly fans came running in here to throw sh*t on us and trash Ben, now they're sensitive af on their own board when we try to tell them to be wary of Harden.

It never fails, folks come talking sh*t on here can dish it out, but they never can take it.

Man, Harden trade may end up being the best thing to happen to us...

Team is just so much better on both ends. We no longer walk it up and then have to hustle to beat the 8 second violation each time. play is so much more up tempo. guys so much more engaged. morale so much higher.

We no longer give up like 8-10 points a game playing 4 on 5 cause harden is still under the hoop arguing a call.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
