Its whatever.

They didn't want to trade Smith. They didn't want to trade Milsap. They didn't want to trade Peirce.

I would be more pissed off, if other teams got these players.

We are playing well lately, and its dumb to make a move for the purpose of making a move.

Just wait till next year when Humphries contract will actually be valuable. Then try and get a more legit starting PF.

Not as pessimistic as most of you. No one in the East scares me outside of the Heat, including the Bricks.

We matchup well against the Pacers, the Bulls are super overrated, and the Knicks are going to be exposed soon.

Ben Gordon isn't needed since we have a few guards that should/could get more playing time in Taylor, Watson, Bogans and Brooks.

Smith and Milsap were long shots from the beginning so no surprises there.

----

Humphries will be more valuable next year. Glad Billy didn't jump the gun like he did last year.

Also Billy King has left some assets to spend next season or in the offseason. Very nice of him to do that for the next GM

This might not be aesthetically pleasing basketball, this team might not be a contender and this team might be streaky and inconsistent, but this team is a legit problem for anyone in the East aside from Miami and there isn't a team in the West aside from San Antonio that I think is that bad a match up for us either.

I don't love this team at all, but the hate has gotten irrational and stupid at this point.

Chicago with Rose does scare me some as well though.

But no one else in the East and although I think we'd ultimately lose in the Finals to the Thunder if we somehow got there, there isn't really a team outside San An that scares me there either.

Call me crazy.

Call me a homer.

That's how I see it as is though.

I was thinking about this today at 6:30 AM, that what happens on draft night exactly?

If they've decided King is done, but they don't have a hire yet how is this handled?

King does the draft then a new GM takes over in July?

I've no idea to be honest. All depends on what ownership are going to do. Do they target the likes of Phil Jackson for president and let him decide on King's future and what coach to bring in to look after the team or what?

Big choices to be made this summer which are far more important and will have a bigger impact than finding a taker for HBAP at the deadline today.

I guess I am at peace everything considering Smith can be had still.

Call me crazy but it takes two adjustments for the team to get it together. We are as much of a contender as anyone behind Miam. ECF can and should be realistic.

Coming into this season I compared this team to the clippers of last year. A healthy Deron, assets, a real coach and re-signed players should bolster us behind Miami as a force. We took a good step in year 1 atleast and can still finish with an elite record despite the crap we endure from coaching, injuries,Reggie, etc.

Kris and marshon have no excuses now. Lock in if you want to win. They make a world of difference when they play good. Consistent effort starts Friday no trade BS should be an excuse

They'd be better off just firing him and letting Bobby marks and/or Prokhorov's top assessors make the decisions.

Vince, I'm not quoting you, but this is for you: I would imagine it's similar to the 2012 draft. Thorn handled it, but then showed himself the door once King was hired.

You can't see us beating any of the 6 other non-Miami teams we are either tied with or beating in the season series?

I can see us losing to Chicago, Atlanta, and Milwaukee.

God help us if we end up matched up against the Bulls and Rose is back. He will eat fat boy's lunch

I think we'd beat ATL & Milwaukee in a 7 game series.

And Rose isn't coming back this season, so we wont have to worry about that. They'd be stupid to bring him back this early.

He can?

We have bigger fish to fry anyway.

We'll get someone interesting next year, I'm confident in that.

Hey can we start this thread off with a bang though?

Let's just for conversation's sake say on draft night we deal Brook, Bogs and Tele for Kevin Love, let's for arguments sake say that actual specific trade goes down.

At that point you need a center who can defend very well next to him.

There are a ton of options but none of them fantastic for many reasons, but still all very good, but which of these deals would you like the best?

Hump/MarShon/3 1sts for Al Horford

Hump/MarShon for either Nene or Okafor

Hump/MarShon/2 1sts for Gortat and a bad contract of their choosing

Man my troll would have been so strong today if I had computer access. I would have created a fake Woj account on Twitter broke the news on a trade of Kevin Love to the Knicks or something like that. Love would have been completely believable too and he's wildly popular and polarizing so it would have created instant insanity lol.

Kobe might have even been the better one. Also believable, more popular, not injured so no question marks on first glance.

Kevin Love + (some other filler player) for Amare, Shumpert, Kidd, and a first round pick.

That would have caught like a wild fire in the Knicks universe.

Yeah that was exactly the type of thing I was thinking. Or Kobe to Boston for Pierce and picks.

Thats not really fair. I saw him today. He doesnt really propose anything. He jut explains what would have to happen to get a deal done. He stated plainly who the Bucks say they wouldnt give up...then showed the salary match and scrolled through who was left once you take Jennings, Illy, and Monta off the board.

So he put in the expiring filler and then combed through the possible pieces left that Atl might want.

DarkXaero wrote: I understand that but Humphries is still negative value. I'm not even talking about Humphries in a deal for Love, I'm talking about our assets with actual value (Brooks, Bogdanovic, Karaman, late 1st round pick), which won't be anywhere near enough to get a player like Love. Love isn't even a free agent in 2014 anyway, so he won't be an expiring next year. We won't have much leverage at all.

I think going forward the way teams are reacting to the fear of taking on salary and letting big name players have leverage in their walk year, we might seem more GM's under this CBA do what Utah did with Deron and sell a year early so that they have the leverage to get what they wanted.

Not sure that will happen with Love because Kahn is very stubborn in the way he does things...but I predict there will be more teams selling off players they perceive wont be with them for another contract once they are down to 1.5 years remaining.

Glad we stood pat if we couldnt get the right guy but of course I agree with you. Watching those two is horrid. And having Crash and his ever dwindling set of skill is like super sizing the issues.
