Miles would be great, as SF and PF.

Now that the Porter roller-coaster ride has concluded- what's next? Sign possibly 2 players what you could sign KCP for, or just put all your eggs in one basket and pluck away at max deal for Caldwell-Pope?
OKC Thunder fan, too.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
continued from the Otto Porter thread:
Russell is the most talented player on this squad. You guys are seriously deluding yourselves with this (saying Russell should come off the bench for Lin in the event that we sign KCP at 2 guard). Don't let your bias for one player get in the way of objectivity.
I'm a big Lin guy, but talent and skill wise he's not better than Russell. More experienced, more proven defensively, yes he is. But that's about where the buck stops.
The Nets didn't trade Brook Lopez to have Russell play back up to Jeremy Lin. Russell is a 3rd year player, the training wheels aren't going to be used here. He's going to play and be featured heavily.

I'm expecting a 4/72 deal for KCP, and wouldn't be surprised if it leaked tonight

Yup, Lin's role is to be a mentor and to anchor second unit, assuming Russell and any other guards (i.e. Kcp) are healthy. This roster is designed to let the kids play and develop.

The Nets cap space will not be available until Otto Porter reports and passes a physical in Washington. Brooklyn will have $28.3M in room.

This. I wouldn't be surprised if Lin was traded to a playoff team before the deadline either.
If we get KCP do you guys think we cut Harris even though his contract was guaranteed. Seems like he's the guard with the least upside and does everything worse than KCP.
Ideal Lineup IMO:
Russell/Lin/Dinwiddie
KCP/Whitehead/Goodwin
LeVert/Kilpatrick/ Vet on 1 yr deal (Allen? Miles?)
Rondae/Booker/Nicholson
Allen/Mozgov/Hamilton

I can't believe anyone actually thinks waiting for the physical matters. They can agree to whatever deals they want.

Well, good luck to them. That's a lot of scratch to be paying for a 2nd rd beat down at the hands of Lebron James.

I think Kilpatrick gets dealt, either for a future pick or for a short term veteran forward salary dump. Faried would kind of make some sense if they also took Hamilton.

At least they'll still have Mahinmi when Wall walks.
