This series will be a fun exploration. The Raptors are objectively better than this version of the Nets, part of the reason they have a far better record than ours. IMO, they are engineered to take down star-heavy, slow-paced systems. We are not either of those things. Also, their key players are at the 1 and 4, whereas our strengths are at the 2, 3 and 5 spots.

The likeliest outcome is that their defensive role-players choke the life out of our stars, turn us over and build their leads with transition 3's. It's imperative that our Big 3 play assertively, AND limit turnovers. That's a tall task. IF they can do that, finishing at the rim, interior passing and kicking out for open corner 3's (our newfound specialty, and their only defensive weakness!) can take down the reigning champions.

One thing for our coaches and players to watch for, the Raptors get SUPER floppy when things don't go their way. Kyle is the king of drawing charges, because he knows all the tricks to induce them. I have zero respect for that style of play, and I hope to see him pouting about not getting the whistle. On the other end, their shooters are masters at getting defenders to fill them while taking 3's. Our team is one of the more gullible, biting on shot fakes and putting out bodies in a shooter's airspace. We've got to play cohesive defense, close out and DO NOT FOUL. Know your role, none of our guys are the next Pippen so there's no reason for any of them to overreact here. I'm trusting Jacque to drop this into their heads. The series could literally hinge on disciplined perimeter defense.

Spicy P is the variable for which we have no answer. Rodi's defense has improved in Orlando, but I see him struggling to contain the All-star. If Pascal stays switched on, he can will his team to a series win no matter what we do. Fortunately for us, Siakam's only knock is that he struggles with consistent killer instinct. This could be his coming-out party as a superstar. If not, it's our window of opportunity.

I predict 4-2 Nets, and we won't even be the biggest upset in the Bubble. I'll dive into individual matchups more later. For now, GO NETS!!!!!!!

I never post on another board, but this is...

Come on man, he’s a fan that was being super optimistic. There’s nothing wrong with that, I’ve seen ridiculous takes over the years on the Raptors forum worse than anything he posted.

Really easy to talk with a big lead over an undermanned team.

I counted 4 BS calls going the craptors way already. It's going to be a long series.

I mean they are clearly overmatched but to give Toronto every possible call makes things even more difficult.

Side note: I wish somebody would body slam fatboi Lowery. He talks so much chit.

Even Jarret Allen is annoyed lol you never see him that outraged. Craptors are a bunch of floppers from top to bottom. They learned from their leader Lowry. Glad Kawhi got away from that sad loser mentality.

I mean I don't know what that has to do with the fact Lowry is an absolutely disgusting player who makes a complete mockery of the game with his perpetual and infinite flopping, flailing, crying, whining and violent rage overreaction to any call that doesn't go his way or isn't made.

It's like watching 2 Girls 1 Cup in basketball form. I'd probably stop watching my team the entire time he played for them.

Don’t care, he would make any team he was on significantly better. He’s been the best overall PG in the East over the last 7-8 years.

I don't know who's more annoying, Craptor fans or Saltic fans. You take a post from 1 guy and try to make it seem like we all agree on that. You know 98% of the posters on this Nets board knows Craps are going to win against a team that has 80% of their players gone. But go ahead and enjoy it before the Bucks spank you guys.

Stahp!

Even putting my bias aside, there is no way he was better then Kyrie a few of those years, or Wall, or Rose, or Kemba.

yeah exactly. This isn't even surprising, take LeVert away on 9 out of 10 possessions via the trap and the team's offense is kaput. We are heavily overmatched against a championship club with elite defense.

Well I don't give them as much credit as you guys do. Are they well coached ... no doubt. Are they a good team... hell no.

They were the #2 seed in the east and you can make an argument that they are better than the Bucks.

Lowry disgusting as expected. Dude makes me legit rage. I hope we smack the **** out of them next season.

These refs are an absolute joke for these calls in the 1st half. They out-talent us already do they need their help too ffs?

Return to Brooklyn Nets
