Loved what I saw from Millsap in that 1st half. If he plays like that for us often, he's going to be an upgrade on Jeff Green overall.

The young boys went out there today and put on a show. Cam was not only efficient, but he got to the line, +17 on the night. Marks nearly pissed himself when Thomas was still on the board at 27 and I'm starting to see why, he can develop into a good pro if he improves on defense.

Millsap. Big body. Was hitting the glass and doing dirty work. He will be a difference maker in the 2nd unit

I was honestly disappointed with Claxton today. He was a negative out there. I think he had three straight moving screens called on him. He's got to do better. Day'ron looked good. So did Sekou and Duke Jr.

We can't keep all of these young guys but I've got to give Marks credit. He is going to keep the talent pool stocked on this team over the next few years.

Thanks for the recap MDB. I did not get to see the game. I'm just looking at the boxscore now.

Any thoughts on Duke? He racked up 30 minutes.

A concern of mine with Claxton has been over confidence. Maybe with all the new guys we drafted, he is going to realize he better work on his game or lose his minutes.

Edit: never mind I just noticed you said Duke did good.

I thought Duke was solid. He is definitely a prospect that we need to keep in the pipeline.

Kessler I'm not sold on yet.

Nic has enough NBA experience now to where a game like this is one where he should be putting up solid production. Instead he was the worst player on the floor today. Not a good look.

It's a meaningless preseason game but Nic should not be getting outplayed by rookies. He needs to look at Paul Millsap, and how he approached the game. Paul went out there and was not playing around.

Nash should absolutely keep the competition at back up center open between Nic and Day'ron. I liked what Sharpe bought to the floor.

I’m not worried about claxton. His game is one that compliments the stars and the stars didn’t play.

This is hot take with intent to troll but its not far fetched. Around Christmas time I'm definitely going to post it on duh nix forum for open debate. I'm a believer at this point, just need some data to back it up.

I mean just look at the draft for past ten years and notice how many low draft picks being able to out play lottery picks. Cam definitely has a case here.

This was an entertaining game for a preseason contest without Kyrie, Harden, KD, Lebron, etc.... Here were my thoughts:

1) Carter/Bembry are absolute DOGS. These guys IMO will have a bigger impact then guys like Milsap or Aldridge. They more then anyone add a dimension we did not have last year. Physical defensive guards that guard end to end and give opposing small ball handlers fits. There will be no more Sexton or Lavine going off no resistance. If this was the bulldog effort we got in preseason i cant wait for playoff intensity versions of those 2.

2) Brown hitting threes put a smile on my face. he said he was working on it this offseason. its 1 preseason game and three point shooting is about consistency over 82 games/150 attemps. so i wont knee jerk. but he shot those with confidence. If he can hit 34-35% or better he becomes much more valuable

3) Cam Thomas looked impressive. I put 0 stock in summer league, so I was excited for what i considered my first real look... playing with NBA players, against NBA players, with bigs on the floor. He looked as good as you could hope. Would like to curb some of the long step back 2's, but if he can get to the line like this like he did in college thats gonna be great. Like nash said, how the rotation shakes out is gonna be tough, we have so much scoring and mills/harris may also come off the bench and defenders should and will play. but im sure injury/rest will get him plenty of time over the year.

4) Sharpe didnt really play at a time or vs a lineup that made me able to really comment. he looked good for what id label preseason garbage minutes

5) Claxton looked good matched up multiple times with AD. it will be me bitching all year if he sits for LMA. This kid needs minutes. he is all-nba type defense right now

6) Milsap/Aldridge didnt look a step slower then i saw them last, which is encouraging at their age. I have 0 doubts Milsap will repace greens shooting at the 4

Killa Cam is so smooth with it, he looks like a veteran out there already. Some of the moves reminded me of Joe Johnson a tiny bit. Loved what I saw from the guys.

I told yall about Bembry and Carter. Straight up attack PITBULLS. the added bonus is that Carter is actually a decent shooter from three, and Bembry has some decent ball handle and is a good cutter, so they won't be liabilities on offense (not that we need them to score).

re: Cam I agree, based on what Nash said I don't think he's going to get much burn this season due to just how stacked we are offensively and guys like Carter, Bembry, JJ etc need to play. He just needs to stay ready

Milsap is a clear upgrade from Green. Way more physical, bigger and hits the glass.
