yeah his movement after the pick is excellent and his hands are solid. he just needs to be careful when setting the screen because he's been called for a moving screen two games in a row now.

I'm in awe of the fact that we've been clamoring for a big man like him for years and here he is.

Part of that was DinWiddies fault and Lowry flopping. Dinwiddie crossed over too early for the screen to be set up. Then you see Lowry flailing so the refs will definitely call that.

Overlooked too often. The majority of illegal screen fouls tend to be the ball handlers fault.

he isnt the super athlete DJ is.... but if he can be 75% of DJ that would be huge for us. i think chandler is the better comparison.

I look back on draft night and he was totally indifferent. He was like Brook who? They have a team? Now when you watch him wether it be in the back ground on the bench or after he has dunked on another vet. It looks like he is really enjoying playing for us and with this team!

Allen's got a higher bbiq he shoots better free throws and can even hit 3 pointers. DJ used to get his off of Chris Paul setting him up and he'd finish with those above the rim dunks.

Was really disappointed with Allen at the rim last night. he did have the one highlight block on drummond buy way to many smalls finsihing right in his face.

not sweating 1 game though

i do think what he would benefit most from is working on his explosiveness... especially stand still verticle. his great wingspan makes up for it, but if he added to his vert look out

I'm not trying to poo poo on The Fro's athleticism at all. This kid is going to be a beast.

But STAT had waaaaaaay more hops and was a violent dunker. Jarrett throws the hammer down but when STAT jumped up it was ugly for whoever was on the receiving end

Bills, Stat could leap, this kid is 19 and not in the D'Antoni system. He's in a structured system that enhances all his traits, but limits his strengths, the SnR to the rim. If he were in that Suns system, you'd see it.

I'll never forget how Stat was compared to Ben Wallace and spoke how defense wins championships and how every analyst said on the defensive side he's ready and a man among boys but offensively he may struggle. Ends up wit Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion who doesn't get enough credit and Steve Nash. Stat turned into Stat when Nash, Joe, Shawn got going. B/c all it did was open the lane for him.

Btw Bills, that's why I compared him to Baby Stat wit D. B/c had D'Antoni grabbed this kid? in 2002-03? He's Stat, he have him take the crazy shots, dunk, ally. Here it's not that. Here it's about perfecting your craft. Jarrett Allen can SnR dunk, but we're developing his post, passing, outside shooting game and defense. On Phoenix it wit Stat it was run, run, RUN! rebound, dunk, shoot! run, run, RUN! box rebound! pass it, 3! RUN RUN RUN! screen! roll hard! 30 pts. 7 rebs. But his man drops 25.

Also Stat had hops at 6'8. This kid is 7 foot and has hops. And still hasn't developed his leg muscles, or upper body.
