KG for Young is also a good move.

Two trades that benefit two players that deserve it. Brook goes to a contender where he'll actually be appreciated. KG goes to Minny to finish his career.

If the Jack to Detroit/Wahsington deals are true then the deadline will be even better in my eyes. King doing a solid job today thus far.

Brook is going to be very unpopular in OKC if they trade jackson for him and they dont make the playoffs and they play better without him then with him as has been the case recently here.

it is all on brook. tit always has been. hopefully he just needs a change of scenery, i like the guy and am happy to root for him now that hisnshortcomings wont hurt the nets

With the way PHX has been playing and Sarver is potentially denying Dragic from leaving, I'm sure the Suns turmoil will let OKC get the 8th spot.

the sun dont make it... the pelicans i think do. especially if lopez doesnt have a positive effect. i dont think you can assume he will or wont.

From Woj:
Sources: Thunder close to acquiring Nets' Brook Lopez for package that includes Reggie Jackson
The Brooklyn Nets are closing on completion of a deal to send center Brook Lopez to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a package that includes guard Reggie Jackson, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

With the Nets committed to moving Jarrett Jack and ultimately paying Jackson as a frontline starting NBA point guard, Jackson has expressed enthusiasm about the deal to Brooklyn, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

As a restricted free agent this summer, the Nets needed to know that Jackson, 24, wants to have a long-term parternship with them.

The Nets and Thunder are discussing a deal that would include center Kendrick Perkins, forward Perry Jones and Jackson joining the Nets, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

There are several more moving parts in Nets-Thunder trade talks, league sources said.

Fortunately for Brook he will no longer be double teamed in the post because people won't be stupid enough to leave Durant wide open ,even if Brook is known to be a poor passer. He'll get a lot of dump offs from Westbrook and can/will get a ton of 2nd shot opportunities because he's an underrated offensive rebounder. He'll be fine. He won't carry the burden of being a first option anymore and will fit right in.

OKC is also going to make the playoffs with or without Brook. They're just a half game out and Phoenix is in full turmoil right now and might lose their best player for future picks. I don't see the Pelicans either. They have a bad coach and haven't been capable of distancing themselves from being .500 all season. As soon as they make a run and are 3-4 games ahead of .500 they go on a losing streak. OKC has too much experience to get beaten out by New Orleans IMO.

OKC is already in front of NOP.

I don't think NOP has the talent to overcome OKC and I think OKC has a lot of home games left.

Brook wasnt doubled alot here. and he has had plenty of guys to pass to and set up for him here. and dump offs dont matter much when you are 16 feet from the hoop. his offenive rebounding is nowhere near what it was. and henever had to carry ny burden offensively. he wont fit in there the same reason he didnt fit in here... he needs the ball in his hands to be effective and his offense comes at the expense of teammates. that doesnt work with 2 other high usage players which is why he didnt work well with dwill and joe.

OKC is also going to make the playoffs with or without Brook. They're just a half game out and Phoenix is in full turmoil right now and might lose their best player for future picks.

i think without brook they do for sure. with him i dont know. i think he can be a negative. he certainly has been for us both this year and last year (win-loss with and without him)

Honestly, i think we are better off with KG and just doing the reggie trade.

Thad Young isnt great, and he doesnt expire
14/5 ,14 PER on 49TS%

KG might be better to help this year and he expires. thad is 10M against next year. I like that adds youth and athleticism, but id fear we have too many volume players who are inefficient. on the other hand, i like having all these athletes around joe johnson. i guess im ok with it either way, but leaning toward hoping KG stays.

I can see thad young becoming the new scapegoat among fans if we dont play well and then owing him 10M (or more if king extends him)

I don't think Lopez can be that much of a negative for them. Reggie Jackson was intentionally playing poorly and was a net negative.

There's not a single thing Perk does better than Lopez and as I'm sure Lopez will buy into the fact that he can no longer ask for the ball like a #1 option.

We'll see...

I think he can be. on the court i dont think reggie hurts his teammates as much as brook does. since jackson while he does chuck at times still does alot to create offense for others. Lopez long 2's + not getting back after the miss on them and the ball stopping i think is more a negative. you also have to factor in an important defensive position(center) is being compromised... PG isnt as important.

I've felt that way with lopez for several years now, last 2 years i think show that he is kind of an empty impact guy

If he's a negative (which he won't be) then they'll just limit his minutes. He'll be coming off the bench already so I'm not sure how much of a negative he can be.

well back to the main point, he isnt going to be well recieved if they have to glue him to the bench. I just cant see him being popular with teammates and fans accustomed to winning and playing passionate.

Let's just agree to disagree. If the trade goes through, we'll wish Lopez the best but what really matters is what happens with our team.

Man I don't really want to lose Lopez, he's so skilled as a 7 footer. But idk with PJIII included with Jackson, that does give us an athlete on the wing like we've needed forever.

If jack doesnt go to OKC we should look into jack for marcus thornton. would give us a shooter, has played well here and boston could use a PG if they dont land dragic

He's replacing Kendrick Perkins. He'll produce enough for people to like him.
