He has been here 7 years. it has not worked out. he may be a skilled 7 footer but he really doesnt fit with the other pieces or with the coach. We have had similar/more success without him recently. It is time to move on, if we can get 2 good young players while shedding his 16.7M contract and lose the injury risk its a good move

Yeah maybe he is more of team cancer than we know, he has been here since the 12-70 days. If we pull this trade, the KG trade, and a surprise D-Will trade, I'll be a happy camper. I'm pretty sure Jackson wants a starting role.

Thank god

let's get these deals done and get these guys in here to work.

Honestly, i think we are better off with KG and just doing the reggie trade.

Thad Young isnt great, and he doesnt expire
14/5 ,14 PER on 49TS%

KG might be better to help this year and he expires. thad is 10M against next year. I like that adds youth and athleticism, but id fear we have too many volume players who are inefficient. on the other hand, i like having all these athletes around joe johnson. i guess im ok with it either way, but leaning toward hoping KG stays.

I can see thad young becoming the new scapegoat among fans if we dont play well and then owing him 10M (or more if king extends him)

Thank you! LOL

I was hoping for another fan to want KG to stay.... besides I wonder why the Okc/BKN trade is dependent on KG to Minn...

Not like he has been disrupting anything, but his lack of aggression and leadership at times. I feel like it carries over to the rest of the team.

I'm pretty sure Lopez isn't a cancer.

If there's anything this board has disagreed on, it's been Lopez true impact to the team. No one has ever questioned his team-first attitude.

Looks like OKC is just doing due diligence.

I can't imagine them pulling out now. There's no way I can blame BK if things fall apart at this stage of the game.

If they do, I'll just find a way to make sure Lil B attends every Thunder game for the rest of the season.

Welp, OKC is dragging their feet.

Deal will probably die now.

Cancer or not it is kind of irrelevant.

we tried building a core around him and it underachieved(his fault or not). With his salary and injuries on top of him, and the fact that he isnt a long term fit here, it makes sense to move him for what we can get. jackson/jones is a very solid return. much more then any one else would offer

LOL theres no way King gets resolved for his terrible GM role after today but if the OKC talks doesn't manifest itself and we have no backup again.... King needs a shanking...

appearantly the okc deal isnt dependant on the KG deal.

although the bontemps tweet brings up a point, moving KG(asusming we rerout perkins to philly) means we get under the tax this year. thats not the case if we keep KG as he makes 2.3M more. that might tip the scales

so we are at 91.2M the tax line is 76.8M

If we did:

Lopez(16.7M) for Jackson(2.3M)/PJ3(1.1M) with perkins(no effect) too the 76ers

then

KG(12M) for Thad(9.1M)

91.2M - 28.7M + 13.5 = 76M

so we would be at 76 million just under the tax like bontemps said.

if we include jack(6.3M) to okc we are at 69.7M, well under the tax

I think if this falls through, as much as i hate the guy, it's not on Billy. I think OKC is a bit worried about Brook but my hope is that they swing this deal.

Even if we don't do the KG deal... that package is wonderful. I can't wait to have a PG who actually cares, is young, athletic and aggressive. Everything we hoped Dwill was going to be. Let Brook help OKC, i bet he'll do perfectly fine there and honestly I wish him all the best, but over there, not here.
