So in order to contend, he gets traded to the Nets who have the following main guys after a deal is done:
Lopez
Murphy
Melo
Williams
Farmar
Boy that's a great team.
Or to the Rockets who would have:
Yao Ming (who may never come back mind you)
Scola
Melo
Martin
Lowry
A little better but probably not winning any titles.
He probably does have a point regarding Melo coming to the Nets. He wouldn't win anytime soon. But he's calling Houston out by saying that they wouldn't contend because of the lakers (who only have 2 years left IMO).. yet he firmly believes that going to the Knicks would be in Melo's best interest.
Yeah a team of:
Turiaf
Stoudemire
Melo
Chandler
Felton
Is MUCH better than Miami and orlando.. GTFO..

Chandler.. a restricted FA who Denver would most definitely let walk after the season, Douglas.. who'd be their 3rd best PG and Curry's corpse would be better than Favors.. a top 3 pick who has more value than anyone on the Knicks right now, T-Will.. a young up and coming player who still has 3 years left on his deal and Murphy.. an expiring that would actually play.
And even if we don't offer that... why the hell would Denver accept the knicks' package when they could just keep Melo and see if they could luck out and beat the lakers?? Why not keep him for that last year that would definitely help you more in the ticket sales than Chandler ever would.
I absolutely loathe NY sports fans... and I'm a friggin Yankees fan/new yorker..
