Until then, I think it’s crazy to disown the idea of supporting both if they try to fix things with ownership and their teammates don’t seem to be bothered. This was all media driven and it’s backfired on the media. They can’t admit they tried to drive him out of here and spun all forms of false narratives. KD simply demanded a trade that was reported. That’s it. Everything else is speculation.
No different to Kareem demanding to be traded to the Nets or Knicks before meeting with Jerry Buss and fixing their issues or no different to Kobe demanding a trade that never happened. Both situations Lakers fans got over it and they still were honored and retired their number.
It’s nothing like Deron Williams. That’s a total disrespect to Kevin Durant. D-Will SUCKED after talking **** and sulking about being traded to New Jersey. Eventually, wanted a max deal knowing the Nets were heading to NYC.
Didn’t want to get ankle surgery on an obvious issue affecting his durability in the first season in Brooklyn. Then, turned into a bitch when being held accountable and to a higher standard by KG and Pierce during his chance to lead the pieces he asked for. Even Kidd. Then, became unplayable in the 2015 playoffs until the NY called him washed. Not remotely the same situation of character.
That’s basically throwing everything KD has done to help us win out of the window including that 49 Point Triple Double carrying us with a bum ass Harden and injured Kyrie. I can’t pretend he hasn’t busted his ass for us when nobody expected him to even be 100% from an Achilles tear.
We all know if this teams starts off extremely well with something like a 15-4 record. Nobody here wouldn’t be excited to go to games and see Simmons in person playing alongside both Kyrie and KD for a full season.
I bet the moment Simmons has a breakout game where he’s putting up 20/10/7 in a game, the entire narrative will shift.
Him demanding a trade after getting swept out of the first round in a series where he was horrible and basically quit (if you believe Mike James) is a pretty big deal. You can't blame that on the media, that's all KD.
You also can't ignore the fact that he sabotaged our whole summer proceedings by demanding a trade when he did.
If he stays cool, but he showed us who he is. We should be sitting here amped up that we finally have a solid, balanced roster around him, Ben and Kyrie and instead we're wondering if the dude will even show up next month
How can anyone blame the media for KD and his camp literally telling the media that he’s demanded and wants a trade and has spoken directly to ownership about it. The media didn’t make this up or create the trade demand- it was a real thing,
have they glamorized It or beat it to death? Sure but it’s only a story because Durant made it one.
I can blame the media because they were the ones driving this story. All of a sudden, the Suns are reportedly out of it like us Nets fans didn’t know that from the moment the Suns matched Ayton or when the Celtics didn’t include Smart. I do believe the trade request isn’t accurate in actual detail. I do think it’s easier to sell a narrative that he wants out without detail, though.
It’s looking more like his treads request was based on his relationship with Kyrie. You can attack and shame that but it seems like an ultimatum. We probably did expect a higher demand and now realize the best choice is a position to work it out. It doesn’t mean it will happen but you can’t sit and believe the media hasn’t added artificial parts to this.
A trade request would mean you don’t want to be apart or Brooklyn or New York City. You don’t want or like this team. You are quitting on the Kyrie relationship.
I’d believe more than anything reported, he could be tired of Kyrie’s antics but that’s been myth busted due to the fact he could’ve simply gotten dealt a while ago.
KD wants Kyrie extended and he ALSO wants him to honor it or else, he’s done. That’s the issue. I’d the media was honest, we would hear more about it. Alondes Williams confirmed to me that Kyrie is ramping up to be a Net and he was going to watch his Pro-Am in Nj (which he did). Obviously, he wants an extension on HIS TERMS and we won’t allow it as a franchise while KD wants Kyrie extended with the same timeline or els regardless. If Nets fans are too slow to see the media trying to drive him out of Brooklyn to then, **** on us as a franchise. That’s not my problem.
The best way to figure it out is to let them run it back and know what we’re paying for or simply trade either one with time but we only get talent like this regardless once and a life time. If we can create a fan that becomes a top prospect in 20-30 years who wants to be a Net because we had Kyrie or KD for years to come. That’s what I want. If they want to be quitters, get rid of them but they both haven’t confirmed that’s either of their mindsets publically.
Just because they didn’t respond to rumors didn’t **** either. People ran with Kyrie’s interview at the awards but he opted in right after. Stop the madness. Let’s let it play out.
