Until then, I think it’s crazy to disown the idea of supporting both if they try to fix things with ownership and their teammates don’t seem to be bothered. This was all media driven and it’s backfired on the media. They can’t admit they tried to drive him out of here and spun all forms of false narratives. KD simply demanded a trade that was reported. That’s it. Everything else is speculation.

No different to Kareem demanding to be traded to the Nets or Knicks before meeting with Jerry Buss and fixing their issues or no different to Kobe demanding a trade that never happened. Both situations Lakers fans got over it and they still were honored and retired their number.

It’s nothing like Deron Williams. That’s a total disrespect to Kevin Durant. D-Will SUCKED after talking **** and sulking about being traded to New Jersey. Eventually, wanted a max deal knowing the Nets were heading to NYC.

Didn’t want to get ankle surgery on an obvious issue affecting his durability in the first season in Brooklyn. Then, turned into a bitch when being held accountable and to a higher standard by KG and Pierce during his chance to lead the pieces he asked for. Even Kidd. Then, became unplayable in the 2015 playoffs until the NY called him washed. Not remotely the same situation of character.

That’s basically throwing everything KD has done to help us win out of the window including that 49 Point Triple Double carrying us with a bum ass Harden and injured Kyrie. I can’t pretend he hasn’t busted his ass for us when nobody expected him to even be 100% from an Achilles tear.

We all know if this teams starts off extremely well with something like a 15-4 record. Nobody here wouldn’t be excited to go to games and see Simmons in person playing alongside both Kyrie and KD for a full season.

I bet the moment Simmons has a breakout game where he’s putting up 20/10/7 in a game, the entire narrative will shift.

Him demanding a trade after getting swept out of the first round in a series where he was horrible and basically quit (if you believe Mike James) is a pretty big deal. You can't blame that on the media, that's all KD.

You also can't ignore the fact that he sabotaged our whole summer proceedings by demanding a trade when he did.

If he stays cool, but he showed us who he is. We should be sitting here amped up that we finally have a solid, balanced roster around him, Ben and Kyrie and instead we're wondering if the dude will even show up next month

How can anyone blame the media for KD and his camp literally telling the media that he’s demanded and wants a trade and has spoken directly to ownership about it. The media didn’t make this up or create the trade demand- it was a real thing,

have they glamorized It or beat it to death? Sure but it’s only a story because Durant made it one.

I can blame the media because they were the ones driving this story. All of a sudden, the Suns are reportedly out of it like us Nets fans didn’t know that from the moment the Suns matched Ayton or when the Celtics didn’t include Smart. I do believe the trade request isn’t accurate in actual detail. I do think it’s easier to sell a narrative that he wants out without detail, though.

It’s looking more like his treads request was based on his relationship with Kyrie. You can attack and shame that but it seems like an ultimatum. We probably did expect a higher demand and now realize the best choice is a position to work it out. It doesn’t mean it will happen but you can’t sit and believe the media hasn’t added artificial parts to this.

A trade request would mean you don’t want to be apart or Brooklyn or New York City. You don’t want or like this team. You are quitting on the Kyrie relationship.

I’d believe more than anything reported, he could be tired of Kyrie’s antics but that’s been myth busted due to the fact he could’ve simply gotten dealt a while ago.

KD wants Kyrie extended and he ALSO wants him to honor it or else, he’s done. That’s the issue. I’d the media was honest, we would hear more about it. Alondes Williams confirmed to me that Kyrie is ramping up to be a Net and he was going to watch his Pro-Am in Nj (which he did). Obviously, he wants an extension on HIS TERMS and we won’t allow it as a franchise while KD wants Kyrie extended with the same timeline or els regardless. If Nets fans are too slow to see the media trying to drive him out of Brooklyn to then, **** on us as a franchise. That’s not my problem.

The best way to figure it out is to let them run it back and know what we’re paying for or simply trade either one with time but we only get talent like this regardless once and a life time. If we can create a fan that becomes a top prospect in 20-30 years who wants to be a Net because we had Kyrie or KD for years to come. That’s what I want. If they want to be quitters, get rid of them but they both haven’t confirmed that’s either of their mindsets publically.

Just because they didn’t respond to rumors didn’t **** either. People ran with Kyrie’s interview at the awards but he opted in right after. Stop the madness. Let’s let it play out.

Disagree all the way around. You don’t let it be known at the level he did if he didn’t want out. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t have changed his mind and likely has or will. He overplayed his hand by thinking he could just force himself to Miami or phx and then realized that’s not going to happen. Combine that with the fact that the nets packages they were offered didn’t make them want to make any of the deals unless they got something so ridiculous they couldn’t say no.

A trade request also doesn’t mean he can’t still be friends with kyrie even if he doesn’t want to play for the nets anymore. Everything your saying also is only your opinion and obviously you are entitled to it and I respect it but you have no legit sources for any of the motivation behind why KD asked out and you’re speaking as if it’s fact. No one knows. I don’t but I don’t think every legitimate nba reporter is making this up because they want Durant off the nets- that’s tin foil hat stuff.

While it is probably true that Kyrie has big part in this, there has to be more to it than that. Are Marks and Tsai playing good cop bad cop with KD? Is Marks telling KD F-you I'm the GM and is that why KD is running to Joe Tsai for the trade request and this supposed meeting?

How can this situation even be resolved? Unless KD fesses up and puts his cards on the table and says here's why. And if his reasoning is more that just "Superstar" subversive BS and something we as fans can relate to and get behind. If not how could I not turn my back on him when his name is announced?

After KD throwing our organization under the bus, the irony of Mike James throwing him under the bus is not lost on me.

He signed a 4 year deal less than 12 months before his trade request.

The entire time the media has portrayed the idea that there was no chance they would be able to ATLEAST reconcile for the next season.

It’s fairly obvious KD’s request is connected to the Kyrie/Nets relationship. That doesn’t need a source or any insider info. Any Nets fan sees that.

If the Nets and Kyrie make amends and they were to offer him a full on 4 year max tomorrow. KD’s trade request likely disappears which is why Joe Tsai is allegedly met with KD this week. Now, all of a sudden Kyrie and the Nets are in a good place before training camp begins.

The moment KD requests to still be traded or he will sit out similar to Simmons will truly tell the real story here but in reality, it will likely boil down to nothing the way this is progressing.

What’s funny is KD was called out early last month on Twitter about his trade request tied to Kyrie and he laughed it off. It’s just funny how he brushes it off to save face but continues to show he’s a bitch. Golden State really humiliated him on so many fronts it’s not even funny. Going back to them would be the icing on the cake.

Listen it’s a nets board and I’m a Celtics fan so I’m not gonna get into a back and forth and derail your thread but this is just inaccurate. The idea that the media for the “entire time” has said there’s no chance KD can come back is just wrong. Zach Lowe has been saying that for 3 weeks minimum. Windy has echoed the same. The media has said “there’s real doubt the nets are even serious about moving KD” throughout the entire trade demand.

You just aren’t being accurate saying that. Kyrie and the nets are in a good place before training camp because 1) kyrie wants to be in Brooklyn and close to his home. It’s his preferred destination and 2) kyrie literally has no other alternative than to come into the season and have one of his best years ever. If he rocks the boat and creates more dysfunction he literally becomes even more of a red flag which limits his ability to get the greatest amount of $ possible.

There was zero market for kyrie except for the lakers. You don’t think he (kyrie) sees that and realizes how much that could hurt his finances if he doesn’t put his best foot forward this year? This idea that the media is manipulating/manufacturing a Kevin Durant trade demand and they want him out of a huge market like Brooklyn is just ridiculous and not accurate to what has happened since June 30th. Durant signed a 4 year extension with the intention of playing with harden and kyrie much has changed in a year.

It’s also funny you mention this meeting that was to alleged to have happened this week- because that would mean you are putting faith into the same media that some allege has it out for KD and the nets. The only person who reported on that meeting was Steve bulpett. Woj shams Fischer Stein no one else even confirmed or denied it.

Question is how much you value a championship ?

Personally from watching NBA for over 20 years ( before I was strictly European soccer fan ) one championship stood out for me the most , it was Dirks Mavs Championship for many reasons ( I still wanted Kidd to win one even after migraines fiasco ) but mostly this was so tough grinded championship, Dirks greatness and dedication from whole Mavs Squad , it was as close as Nets winning for me because of Kidd connection and great memories of him in Nets uniform

Now with this snake Durant , even if comes back, play great and win championship ( personally I don’t believe it , it will happen )
With all we did for this guy , signed him , wait for his Achilles to heal for a year , then cater to him signing washed DAJ , Durant said jump and Nets were asking, how high ?

Then this snake showing us his loyalty demanding a trade after signing 4 year extension? No thanks Durant , you can sit out or go anywhere we gain the most from trading you

To my original question, winning with Durant would’ve feel like being wife of abusive alcoholic , today he beat us badly and tomorrow we gonna get the flowers ( read championship)

It’s still a championship but after this off-season and his trade demand , wouldn’t taste this sweet

PS. Excuse my English , it’s only my third language, thx

Agree with everything you say. Your English is great for a third language and also made me laugh, "this snake Durant" lmao.

Lmao. KD goes harder at idiot randos on Twitter than he did the Celtics defense.

Well said.

I am holding firm to the belief that we aren't winning anything with this guy after what we saw in the playoffs. Not without a legitimate coach, at that.

And your English is fine. Trust me, there are people who have English as their first language that can barely string together coherent sentences. Hell, I wish my brain was capable of speaking another language fluently  :-?

KD would rather pick on a random tweet than straighten his priorities... such a weak, thin-skinned clown...

Lmao. KD goes harder at idiot randos on Twitter than he did the Celtics defense.

His priorities seem to be an order and it’s stuff like this that makes it hard to be a Nets fan. One bad series doesn’t excuse this type of nonsense. Nets fans need to humble themselves.

Meanwhile, you allow fools like this to paint random stories and believe it.

This is allegedly the same guy you want to build around? I don’t believe this nonsense whatsoever from Ric but quit acting like KD sole and only problem here. The inmates run this asylum and the media knows Nets fans are too weak and non-existent to do anything to push back against some of these “stories.”

KD met with Tsai per Shams; he expressed that Marks/Nash both be fired. What a change in tune from KD about Nash after he defended him in April. Now I believe Tsai will fire Marks and Nash; if KD gets his wish, he better deliver a ring to the Nets.

I don't think Tsai will fire Marks. I could see Nash "stepping down."

If it comes down to KD or Marks, he will fire Marks/Nash, make no mistake. KD is doing this to make Marks/Nash pay the price for not paying Kyrie his max. KD is a soft bitch.

Goodbye Kevin. Causing a schism is not gunna change the fact that the root of the issue is you. if I were Tasi I would get rid of KD and Steve.

No we don't. We've been dealt bad hand after bad hand. Are we supposed to say "pweese KD don't leave us!!" or something?

If he stays, cool. If he doesn't, cool. I don't care anymore I'm just tired of the constant drama

Nets fans have to push back against media stories?

Come on now bro. We're literally a bunch of powerless people in a very small fanbase that wields zero power outside of refusing to buy tickets and merch. Don't blame your fellow fans, blame the people who are the core of this mess: The Nets and Kevin Durant
