We see beat writers break news all the time...they don't get in trouble. Just because the guy isn't Woj or Aldridge, him and his source are going to get in trouble? That doesn't make sense to me.

He posted this Thursday, which means whoever his source was likely was in that room when all of this went down (at worst, in nearby rooms). Teams don't generally appreciate insiders leaking things like this.

But how is that different than when Woj breaks a story? He absolutely has insider sources as well, but nobody gets on his case.

Kidd's a douche.

But most importantly, props to Carl. There's no doubt in my mind...this is the GOAT thread on RealGM.

121-109 in 3 seasons. turned a 23 win team into a 51 win team in 2 seasons

you want an awful coach, thats jason kidd.

Dude had stacked Warriors team to work with, and underachieved with them. Blatantly didn't prepare his team during the playoffs, because he's too busy proselytizing. Calls ISOs for Jarrett Jack, Klay Thompson, and Harrison Barnes over and over again on crucial possessions in the playoffs, when he has a top 5 player in the league on the court. His offensive playcalling sucks. The one thing I would give him credit for is his ability to coach defense and motivate players, pretty much exactly like Kidd. Him and Kidd are on the same level. There's a reason why GS fired him...they should have done a lot better than they have.

stacked team? they are good but come on hardly stacked.

meanwhile, jason kidd took a team with Deron williams, joe johnson, paul pierce, kevin garnett, andrei kirilenko, andray blatche and shaun livingston to a 5th seed and 44 wins in one of the worst conferences inleague history.

I don't know that its the same situation. I mean, after this went down, there's no chance that Kidd remains with the Nets, right?

If you're Kidd, you probably rather get fired...keep getting paid by the Nets while new team (Bucks) pays for diference of his new raise. Worst move he'd make is to get "traded" to Bucks and immediately lose a first round pick.

Ah, well then screw it. Keep him under contract. Just force him to coach the team unless Milwaukee gives us compensation. IDC what kind of locker room issues it causes. It would be absolutely hilarious to watch.

Oh my...wouldn't it be an absolute irony if Proky re-assigns Kidd to doing reports and promotes Frank?

It would be even better if he promotes Carl2680.

I'd have to imagine Milwaukee is smart enough to just wait it out and pick him up after Brooklyn fires him. They didn't reach out to Kidd for the job, and they don't need him.

Carl2680, how much is Kirilenko getting paid off the books? Does Andray Blatche really hate Brooklyn? And does Lawrence Frank really own the fountain of youth?

Carl, you didn't use your same account as your twitter account did you?

Not very anonymous...

Hopefully they can't track you back to your source.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Bucks abandon this idea. After how it came out, he could be PR poison. Kidd can't go back to the Nets, so is left with nothing.

Superstar in Steph Curry. Former All-Star in David Lee. One of the best young SGs in the game in Klay Thompson. Defensive anchor in Andrew Bogut. Athletic shooter in Harrison Barnes. Some good bench players.

How much more do you need? The Warriors were due for a big improvement anyway, based on Steph Curry staying healthy alone. I don't really think it's right to give Jackson the majority of credit for their turnaround. I think he's absolutely at fault for why they haven't gone further than they should have. He treats his job as a hobby to his "true calling" (his religion), and his decision-making as a coach has been undeniably bad.

Kidd was bad...but he also dealt with a lot of injuries to his best players, and nobody on the team was a legit star. And a lot of his best players declined badly (Williams, Garnett, and Kirilenko stand out the most in that regard). Stephen Curry was pretty healthy, so regardless of the supporting cast, Jackson always had a superstar out there.

Huh, good for you, Carl.

Part of me really hates that King is still GM instead of Kidd (or anyone really), but I wasn't particularly satisfied with Kidd's coaching all of last season either. And I really don't want Lawrence Frank as coach. Hope they go with an outside hire.

Beat writers usually don't get in trouble because the team is intentionally leaking info to them, or agents are. The writers that push out insider information without permission end up losing their sources.

Why? So one of those ESPN rats take the credit. I rather share the news with the fans here. ESPN, and the rest of the media have a hard for the heat. They only care about James.

its biased to talk about the nets injuries but not the warriors. as is not mentioning the prowess of the western conference vs. the hillarity of the eastern conference. even with that, the warriors won 7 more games. The warriors are a good team. curry is better then anyone on the nets. but its not like jackson was coaching the heat or the thunder either.

they didnt go further because the clippers were a better team.
