Claxton didnt look great, but tough to return from a hammy. glad to have him back. watching the replay he looked like 80% of himself. hopefully he gets back at it.
probably see alot of blake tommorow and no LMA
speaking of LMA, when he isng shooting 70% on midrange,he looks like a negative player. still a great bench piece, but if he isnt hitting that shot, blake is a much better option

I sorta agree hes been rushing his shot but at least he draws defenders out and clears the lane for Kyrie/Harden etc to drive unlike the other centers. He still is a spacing god, but his defense hurts him. He tries but guys are just able to sky over him often.Prokorov wrote:Claxton didnt look great, but tough to return from a hammy. glad to have him back. watching the replay he looked like 80% of himself. hopefully he gets back at it.

Watching harden get blitzed in the middle of the 4th and all the resulting turnovers bummed me the **** out. Even with Kai, there is another major hole in our roster. we need another playmaker. there has to be someone. fken TJ. anyone. Fk. See if Cam can step into that role.

Huge hole there. It’s basically just Harden when Kyrie is out and that has to be the number one priority getting a playmaking point guard. I agree Nash is a problem and Dantoni was running the offense last year but how many times have we had any game to game set rotation to get these players into a flow. It’s been injuries and Covid for the last 2 years plus the big 3 sighting is so rare I can’t even remember when they played a game together. The challenges this team has had is unprecedented. Now we want to put in a new coach as well. It’s fools gold though if we hit the playoffs without the big 3 every game.

Somehow, I get this feeling that not only will Kyrie not be available full time, I also get this feeling he will try and convince KD not to come back and play this season. He convinced KD of this in the past. People act like it's just the Covid Vaccine that was an issue; he took time off to party last year, took time off with the Jan 6 riots, etc... He will find something else and not only will he do that, he will tell KD to hang it up this year and wait til next year. I feel like KD/Kyrie at this point are just balling for fun and when they want to. Harden is clearly frustrated with that and cannot explain that in a manner where it wouldn't be taking digs at both of them.

Marks is twiddling his thumbs while the entire season goes down in flames
"Going down in flames" is a bit extreme.
3rd place, 1 game out of first, 1 game off the pace for best record in franchise history.
If we were at or around .500, slotted firmly in the playin multiple games out of the 6 seed. then maybe there would be cause for some concern. Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers... those teams need to panic. We are still in a very good spot.
As far as Marks "twiddling his thumbs" I dont think it is as simple as that. We have VERY few assets. Teams im sure are lowballing any Harris offers with his Injury and knowing we need some help. Same on Claxton/the rookies. I'm upset we didnt get in on Forbes, but odds are Marks has better options that will require every asset and using some for Forbes may hurt those chances.
The deadline is February 10. We have 7 games in that span. Even if we go say, 1-6 beating only the Kings We are still 30-23, still a top 6 seed.
After Feb 10 we get:
-probably something via trade big or small
-KD back between 2/14 and 2/26
-a 10 game stretch with: Wiz x2, Boston x2, Kings, Knicks, Raps x2 with Kyrie for 6 of those and the big 3 probably for the last 3
ADDITTIONALLY we are poised to close the season on fire:
Last 12 games: Pacers, Cavs, Knicks, Rockets, Hawks, Bucks, Pistons, Hornets,Grizz, Heat, Blazers, Pelicans, Magic, Mavs
Big3 for at least 6 of those.

Idiotic.
Kyrie did not take time off to party. He took off for the birth of his Kid. The party for his sisters birthday was not the day of a scheduled nets game. Milsap missed more time this year for his kids birth then Kyrie missed last year. I pointed out in several threads that Kyrie has missed very few time with this team for an unreasonable reason and all were excused. The minnesota riots and Kobe's death are the only 2 that are questionable and i still dont get people who question him missing the game on the day Kobe died. Especially when he came back the enxt game vs the knicks and dropped 50 in a win.
People buy way to much into media narratives and ignore what the actual players say and the facts we have.
KD missed 2 years to injury. you think he is sitting out this year cause Kyrie told him to? lolz

This season is basically championship or bust. We have no draft assets or cap space. Harden might leave. Who knows what happens with Kyrie.
If you're happy with just being a pretty good team and beating up on bad teams, that's cool. We can pray for our injury prone team to get healthy.
If we get bounced in the 2nd round again, that's the season going down in flames. That's a huge failure. Like literally one of the biggest disappointments in NBA history if we assemble 3 stars and get nothing out of it. MDB isn't being extreme.
Marks needs to be aggressive and reshuffle this roster. The whole point of the BIG 3 is that if you lose one star to injury, you still have a shot of winning the chip. That would've happened last year. Right now, that's NOT happening thanks to the roster + Nash. Not even close and frankly, that's embarrassing.

Like literally, if we do not win the championship, this season is a catastrophic failure and as it stands right now due to roster make up, Kyrie being a complete jackass, and coaching, we are not going to sniff anywhere near the east finals. We are being consistently blown out by good teams. This was never the case last year.
Hell, if we end up falling to 4th and end up in a 4-5 match up with the Cavs or Sixers, that could EASILY translate into a first round knock out with the way things look. We can't rely on 4 rookies in the playoffs. Harris might be done for the season. There is no guarantee that Kyrie will be available for home playoff games regardless of what Prok's feelings on the matter are. This is shaping up to end really bad.
If Daryl Morey manages to trade Simmons and Harris to the Kings to clear the necessary cap room before the deadline, we are in serious trouble. This stuff about Harden exploring other options isn't bogus. It's being put out there to put the Nets on notice.
Things need to change, quickly. And frankly, the time for playing nice with Kyrie is over. He needs to either get the shot, or trade avenues need to be explored.

Forget what the media has said just listen to Kyries explanation. He is more than just a basketball player. Why should he do something he doesn’t want to do in the interest of winning more basketball games?

I agree. the point is we are far from the point were we are a good bet to lose in round 2. a LONG way. We are also a long way from Harden walking in the offseason.
Having a great title shot this year + having to pivot to Kyrie/Simmons/KD next year is not going down in flames in my mind. In fact if we dont win this year with the big 3, a Pivot from one of the 3 stars might make some sense. Like for me winning a title and running it back is great,
but losing in round 2 would I hate getting a younger simmons + small assets and not pay Harden 50 million for 5 years thorugh age 39? Do I hate that? not at all. In fact it may even long term to make more sense. Simmons is young enough where with Kyrie we shouldnt be handing top 5-10 picks to Houston for the duration of what we owe them.
No title would be really bad and a huge missed opportunity. but it wouldnt be a dumpster fire. Kyrie/KD/Simmons or even if like say Kyrie retired Simmons/KD and complimentary pieces is a pretty soft landing spot in a worst case scenario.
The only real going down in flames is no title + Harden leaves + Kyrie retires + KD asks out. And I think the odds of all of that happening are like 1% or less.

Yeah i mean, what an awful tweet. Like such a terrible message. If only he would stop be a POS clown and represent like a real man...

If you want to hate on Kyrie fine, there is plenty to be upset with. Piling on stuff like this which is in no way, shape or form, a bad detrimental thing is just being obtuse.

Exactly, these guys are basketball players. they are not slaves. They dont lose all choices on their health/family/religion because it might mean the basketball team doesnt win as much.

Scariest part is that he has attention of young AA as a person. These boys and girls forming their minds right now from Kyrie
I'm not exited by this at all. We going to see results from these tweets down the road. Something needs to be done.

Trading Kyrie is not an option, we losing KD automatically. It'll take miracle to talk KD into staying with us.
All things pointing towards that Harden don't trust Kyrie as a teammate. Is there any avenues to convince him to stay out here? This is what Marks / Tsai need to figure out. Losing Harden will be catastrophic, not only we losing MVP talent, we making our division rival favorite. What messenge will it send to the league?
We not beating Pat Riley and Greek right now due to Nash incompetence. Losing D'Antoni was/is biggest blow. Roster construction is not an issue imo. We were better team last year with lesser personal due to coaching. We actually were spanking good teams and been lackadaisical vs lottery ones. This year team is actually better equipped for a chip run, not having HC who can drive this Cadillac is tragedy.
Now let's look around. NYS /NYC not changing its Covid rules anytime soon. Waiting for warmer weather and hoping Biden/Dems change their direction moronic. With mid term elections around I expect more states to go Cali/NY way, all signs show it. Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia etc States has stats to back it up, crazy part is that Texas might flip too. They were very close to turn blue last president elections, Cuban go check what he's doing. It's like he be chilling with Sanders.
We just have to figure this Kyrie fiasco. It all starts and ends eight there. When he's on the court playing I don't think there's a team that better than us in 7 game series.

You need to figure out what's going in your head. You sentence contradict each other. Take a second and look at it again.
This thread alone is mine gold. I'm not even asking for common sense or logic, just one direct point.
