1) Racism is horrible and should be called out in any instance. Everywhere in the US but especially at times Boston, has had it's issues with racism, but to just dismiss all Celtics fans as racist is prejudicial and reductionist on it's face. You're also using it as a crutch to dismiss any argument you disagree with. If you want to disagree with me about Kyrie that is fine but I don't appreciate accusations of racism when you don't even know me and I have never given you any indication that I am a racist. Hell, I don't even live in Boston.
take it up with marcus smart, tristan thompson, and the boston globe. they called you racist, i just agreed.
lol none of the three said every Celtics fan is a racist. I'd love to see a source proving that. Nobody argues that there are some racist people who also root for the Celtics. There are probably racists that root for every team in the league
Smart and thompson confirmed what kyrie said and KD confirmed.
Smart said, according to Jay King of The Athletic. "It’s kind of sad and sickening because even though it’s an opposing team (Nets), we have fans on your home team that you’re saying these racial slurs and you’re expecting us to go out there and play for you.”
I lived in boston for 23 years. everywhere has a few bad apples and racists. boston is an entire orchard of bad apples. I've lived in NJ, NY, RI, NC and spend 8 summers in FL. nothing even close to the racism i experienced in boston. and again this isnt about me, celtics players past and present, the boston globe, opposing players in all 4 sports all say the same.
its a racist city with racist fans. your own mayor wu called the city out for racist marks around covid with her being asian.
The biggest problem is people who live in or associated with Boston who wont acknowledge the issue. its why i moved out.
