Since he's an offensive black hole, yeah he'll score 50 but his team will lose by 30. He is the spawn of Zach Randolph and Eddie Curry. Jay Bilas was on Mike & Mike this morning and he said if it were up to him, Even though he thinks he's the most NBA ready player in the draft he'd pass on Cousins and let someone else deal with it.

I heard that too. I thought it was an honest answer.

I think that ship has sailed. I cant see us taking him at #3.

As for what will happen....well its possible. He has the talent. But, a 19 year old kid who doesnt like to work out who is about to be handed millions of dollars, will be out on the road doing his thing with LESS supervision. And btw... I read that he has no drivers license. He will be relying on whatever "entourage" he has assembled to get him around. But don't worry. I am sure he has a fantastic support network that will make sure he eats salads, goes to bed early, reads the classics and hits the gym.

After all...what is an entourage for?????

I totally agree with you.

How many Five Guys Burgers will he be able to buy with his NBA contract?

How about this lets kill all three birds with one stone.

Yi, Hump, #27, #3 for Bosh.

We now have our 1 max and room for LBJ.

Harris
Lee
LBJ
Bosh
Lopez

Bench: T-Will, #31, Vets

Edit: you know what we could keep #27 for our bench because since we are giving up #3 we would be good. Favors is better then anything any other team is going to offer so it's up to Bosh if he wants to come.

Hey SIC! Its an old timers reunion....here at the Nets board.

Ok...so...if this deal is true is asks several questions...

First off...could this be why Rod was looking to trade up to 19 so he could send 19 and Devin out for Cap space?

Next...why take HInrich if you are the Wizards????? Taking Wall, sitting on Arenas....rumored to deal him for VC????? COme on now...Devin better fit if that is the move!!! CRAP!!!!!!!

The Bulls have a trade in place that would send guard Kirk Hinrich and the No. 17 pick to the Wizards, sources told ESPN.com's Ric Bucher.

The move would free up enough cap space for Chicago to sign two max-level free agents this summer.

The deal can't be consummated until July 8, when Washington will have enough room under the cap to absorb Hinrich's contract without having to send anything back in return.

Wow, good move for the Bulls that's pretty much a knockout punch. Even if we do manage to free up space for a second max, I'd imagine Rose+Noah+Deng is better than Lopez + whatever we have left. Though, I didn't think we had much of a shot at Lebron anyways. This screws a team like the Knicks much more than it does us.

Yeah it does suck for us but if it screws the Knicks then I'll live with it.

The only way around it is if we make the trade for CP3 and manage to get under the cap enough to get a max slot.

CP3
Lee
James
Okafor/Yi
Lopez

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. The pressure to make the Paul deal just went up if this thing is true.

I mean...we can still get into Lee teritory for a second player...maybe that even gets Boozer. But it isnt going to get Bosh.

And if Lebron can go with Bosh and still have Rose around...wow.

Personally...I think Favors will be better than Noah...so to me that is no big deal. And in tandem...I would prefer to have Brook/Devin over Rose/Noah...if you prefer to look at it that way.

But, if we have to dump Devin and have no PG because we cant dump Yi/Hump/Dooling that is going to be a harder sell now if he can have Bosh and a PG.

The big way out...go get Paul.

Amen brother.... AMEN. Rather the Bulls than the Knicks.

So lets trust Favors/Lopez turns into the best backcourt in the NBA in a couple of years. :)

In the mean time.... It´s playoff time.

Go for Joe Johnson? Yeah I know he isn´t really what we hoped for but we can compete with him. Or go for the playoffs with the roster we have now? It´s time to truly develop our young talent, build around Brook.

I really dont see the Knicks getting Lebron in any circumstance. I just dont. I think they have the least to offer. And they know it. They have bneen selling the Knicks...they have been selling NY. We can give him that plus a good suporting cast...so they arent the team I fear most. I have said all along..its the Bulls.

If we strike out? Then honestly? I would sign Lee and sit tight. Forget fit, forget need, forget fielding a team. Not interested in getting older over paid playes just to fear losing.

Sign Lee. He is young, and yet we would still stink enough to draft build. Let Twill mature.

But what I am I doing? Too soon to rationalize this. We arent done yet. No deal for the Bulls is official. ANd it cant happen until July 8th. Lets see how this all goes down from here.

Genius idea.

Not sure if anyone posted, but seems people are starting to get a better idea of just how much bust potential Favors has. From Ford last mock:

Analysis: All the talk that the Sixers were considering going big is now fading. After they worked out Derrick Favors and DeMarcus Cousins on June 18, coach Doug Collins, who was very high on Favors before the workout, fell out of love. Collins was concerned about Favors' raw skills and wasn't impressed during the interviews.

Analysis: After Favors' so-so workout on Monday, the Nets began to move toward Syracuse forward Wes Johnson. But a league source told me on Wednesday night that after 24 hours of debate, it looks like Favors has re-emerged as the favorite to go No. 3.

He'll still get drafted over Cousins. And i still want the Nets to draft him over Wes even if trade value is the only reason.

What has **** us is that we restricted our selves with the idea of trying to get room for 2 Max players and let all this talent slide right past us. Add Hinrich to the already long list of guys that could have been had for nothing. Dont forget the 17th pick, ohh and the 18th pick. I wish i kept track of all this but its too many to count. Just keep all that in mind at the end of the summer when we're grading how well/poor the Nets did.

Why the hell would we even want Kirk Hinrich? Who else have we "passed" on? Al Jefferson's big contract and bad knees?

I don't even think CP3 gets us in the mix now.

Rose
LBJ
Deng
Bosh or Amare
Noah

That's nasty.

Yeah SOUP Favors needs to be the star we are all expecting. I still think we should go hard for Gay and go with the youth movement, assuming we are offically knocked out of the race for the big guns.

Maybe we can dump Yi, Dooling and #27 and have enough room for Boozer/Gay or D.Lee and Gay.

Harris
Lee
Gay
Boozer
Lopez

Favors
T-Will

you know something like that

You tell him brother! Amen!

He just doesnt get it. He doesnt understand the sport. His goal is a trade to medicority for this team. I think he is really a Knicks fan just here trolling the board. I would say perhaps if enough people tell him? At the very least its funny to watch every single poster react in disgust to his comment and yet he still argues with an absolutely arrogant confidence.

In Demens land...2+2=5...and WE ARE ALL FOOLS for not seeing that!!! I mean...what is WRONG with all of us???????

A Rose, Lebron, Deng, Bosh, Noah starting 5 still isn't a championship contender IMO. You'll have Lebron taking 9 threes per game trying to compensate for the lack of perimeter shooting the team will have.

There's still a week left 'til free agency, Thorn still has plenty of time to try and get more cap space.. We have plenty of assets to get a deal done somewhere..

I agree with you E.

The only thing the looks good in that line up is IMAGING Twill and Favors on the break away.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
