There's still a week left 'til free agency, Thorn still has plenty of time to try and get more cap space.. We have plenty of assets to get a deal done somewhere..

That lack of shooting/true SG would be a problem, but can be easily address by trading Deng for different **** contracts that can shoot/play SG. Even with the issues on the outside, you can't say a lineup with 2 of the top 15 players in the league (plus Rose and Noah) isn't a championship contender.

I'll explain why we would want Hinrich at the end of the summer when we have Brian Scalabrene and Qyntell Woods on our team.

My mistake.. I meant to say they still wouldn't be favorites to win it all.

Honestly, not too concerned with Chicago. It's just too much. Don't win 6 and he'll be a failure. Win more than Michael and he overtakes the legacy of his hero.

But, what the heck are the Wiz doing? Wall, Arenas, and Hinrich? You would think they'd pull the trigger on that Arenas/VC deal just to get out of Arenas' contract now.

The Pacers and Nets are discussing a trade to send Danny Granger and the 10th pick for Devin Harris, Yi Jianlian and the No. 3 pick.

Indiana would draft Derrick Favors if they owned the pick.

Yeah, I'm completely perplexed by the Hinrich deal. I know Hinrich can play the 2 more than Harris and other PGs, but what the heck are you going to do with Hinrich, Wall and Arenas?

The only way this makes any sense is if they find a place for Arenas.

Does nothing for the cap, except give us money. Around 4 million, without doing the math out in paper.

Yeah...I dont get that deal at all. Clear cap room for Lebron by going after a self creating SF? Just not seeing it. And you create a hole at the PG spot.

Really...NOT liking this idea if its true.

- Oh **** no. Granger is nice but he loves the three-point shot way too much and he's injury prone. Furthermore who the hell would the Nets play at the point (I mean it's basically a forgone conclusion they'd take a PF at #10, right?)?

- Better not happen.

- It'd open up around $4 million in cap space Speedy.

edit: For the record my gut feeling tells me that this was a deal offered to the Nets by the Pacers and that it's not going to go down.

This deal does give NJ roughly an additional $2.9 million in cap space. Still never been a big fan of this one.

New Jersey has gotten a steady stream of offers for the third pick on Thursday, with teams trying to get a hold of Favors, sources said.

Well, this is what I'm hoping for (and why I think Thorn was floating all these names last night). But please, just no trade down for more picks.

We trade that pick, it's for a stud that'll help us in the long run!

I think it is CP3. I think the Bulls trade makes Thorn take on Okafor, and worry about the max spot later.

Let's say this deal is available (Pacers)...can we sing a three-way with TO? With Granger going to Toronto and us getting Bosh S&T?

As of last night...Bosh technically became a free agent...so no, not like that. Bosh aparently had to send a letter saying he was opting in? Anyone read about that?

No fax came through...something along those lines. its all a blur in my head now. Too much reading.

That's another thing I'm thinking. This was just to clear the salary of Harris and Yi, and get Granger to trade away for a max slot.

The question is what smaller assets (ie: Lee, TWill, picks 27 and 31) were in the declined Okafor deal. Assuming more cap space needs to be created you need some asset(s) to create the room.
