I wouldn't be shocked if they were somehow the mystery team in on porter...

That would only really suck if they signed him and it turned out that Washington was bluffing the whole time

Bosh getting waived and Riley is saying his number will be retired and never be worn in Miami again... wonder if a statement like this is made to help show Heyward the "Heat way"...

My expectations are maybe a salary dump deal and/or small contracts given out... seems like Marks prefers flexibility. Not expecting to get Porter tbh.

I feel like Sacramento pulled out because they know Washington will match.

I'd rather not waste our time signing him. No need to do that just to spite Washington.

It's either that or Otto Porter's camp told Sacramento that he would rather sign a max offer sheet with the Nets than them.

With this tight lipped new FO....He could've verbally agreed to the offer sheet already and it just hasn't leaked yet. Hell, the nets could have agreements with a few guys already.

Boston would now need a series of transactions to create cap space for Gordon Hayward. The Celtics would have to pull the qualifying offer on Kelly Olynyk, renounce free agents Jonas Jerebko, James Young, Gerald Green and waive the contracts of Jordan Mickey and Demetrius Jackson (or trade). The Celtics would be left with $27.6M in room and likely need to move the contract of Terry Rozier or Marcus Smart. Trading Rozier would have the Celtics short $1M of a max salary a lot.

I say we help them if Jae Crowder's name is thrown into the mix.

Yep. I think we made an offer to Green and might already have a deal for Mohammed.

Marks likely is learning from his timing last year. We made offer sheets to guys before the moratorium and under the old rules. We ended up tying up our money for a near week and missed out and multiple free agents.

Friday night is when the fireworks begin.

I doubt MIL is looking to dump Jabari Parker but if they were considering it, I would love to take a flyer on him unless he had degenerative knees.

Hayward officially to the Celtics. Think this starts a domino effect?

If they don't resign Hayward, they have 16M in cap space. They could be players for KCP, or potentially Porter, though they would have to shed salary. The Jazz having 16M in cap room is bad, but another team that needs to shed salary is good.

It has to. Maybe it won't all pile on tonight, but over the next day or two the celtics have to make moves I'm order to make the necessary room to sign Hayward.
