He looks so much more confident. He looks like George Hill 2.0.

Feel bad for Chicago. They thought they were hiding Dinwiddie on their GLeague team(wasn't signed) , and Marks just debo'd them. Now they got Jerian Grant starting, and we have another young PG who's showing promise.

I think this game at least raises the question whether Din should sometimes be considered for closing games next to DLo.

We have a team option for two years, right? I would definitely tie those up and try to extend beyond that.

I just thought this needed to be included in this thread. With the game tied and 43 seconds left in game, this happened

0:43. Spencer Dinwiddie makes 31-foot three point jumper

Mayor Dinwiddie -- Mr. 1400 on this SAT -- took on Lebron James the PG and came out the winner. That 30 ft 3pters when the Nets were down 106-104 was huge. This was a game that we were fated to lose, as the former NBA champs clawed back to take the lead in the dwindling minutes. Dinwiddie was huge.

He signed a 3yr contract after his 10-day last season. So that means he is locked in for another season after this one. He becomes a free agent at the same time as DeMarre Carroll, JLin (assuming Lin picks up his player option), DLo, and RHJ. So one more season on the contract after this one, not two.

And it is not a team option exactly. Rather, it is a pseudo-team option just like this year, constructed out of a series of partial guarantee dates. Basically, he can be cut at any time and his salary is non-guaranteed or various partially guaranteed levels depending on the date of release. So not technically a team option, but functions as one for practical purposes. More team-friendly and flexible than a team option in many respects.

I think you have to wait for the second anniversary after the contract was initially signed before you can do an extension since he is on a 3yr contract. So that means waiting for December of next season if you want to extend him. So it would be up to him to decide if he wants to talk extension in December of next season, or wait a few months and hit free agency the following July and test the market. You can't extend him right now even if you wanted to.

Dinwiddie should start with Russell at off guard he's a natural point guard D'Lo is a natural scorer. Also he turns the ball over less and is a better defender, last night he only had 2 turnovers to 5 assists starting. I feel the offense runs smoother with him in the game no disrespect to D'lo.

In post game interview, when Kenny was asked about Din's play for Nets. He first thing he said is: "Spencer organized us."

When Din was asked about his leadership style after the game, he said: “Dry and sarcastic.”

He needs to start. he's playing at a solid level.

I think he will fill the role that Lin was supposed to play next to Russell. Let Russell focus on scoring at the two and let him hone his PG skill in this offense w/ the 2nd team. go back to the staggered minutes plan.

Spencer has come a long way in a very short time.

Also a key statistic: 0 turnovers. Ryan Ruocco mentioned during the game tonight that Dinwiddie is in the top 5 this season, when it comes to assist:turnover ratio.

You're right! I meant to include that. It's a key part of what is great about him

I'd still rather start levert. I love dinwiddie but levet needs to be in there especially with his struggles. need to push him through these struggles to build on this. i dont have an issue with an eventual lineup change but 7 games is super knee jerky.

true. probably best to let Russell and LeVert both work through this rough patch.
