It's pretty hard listening to Ruocco, not gonna lie. He's been off this game.

Another embarrassing loss.

Not sure how Marks can watch this and not be severely concerned.

He's a Nets fan who is clearly very frustrated watching this team right now. I don't blame him at all.

Hey, Detroit is a great defensive team though, makes sense that we struggled.

Oh wait, they're the 21st ranked defense? Oh.

Well, they've got so many offensive weapons, they're really dangerous.

Oh wait, they're the 26th ranked offense? Oh.

So we got rocked on both ends of the court by one of the worst teams in the league? And both Kyrie and Harden got outplayed by Jerami Grant?

Makes sense. Totally what I expected coming into this season.

I agree. He's definitely not great in losses haha

Ian is fun in even bad Nets games but it's not fair to compare them, since Ian is a legend.

This is the worst defensive team we have had since the 12 win season in 2010.

I never even imagined we could be this bad with all the veterans and talent. Can't play basic defense.

Coaching sucks. Players suck. Nothing but an embarrassment.

I really do miss Allen. He was the only thing making this team even close to average defensively.

therealbig3 wrote:Harden will keep walking away with pretty stat lines, but he's been terrible consistently whenever he leads the bench unit. Keeps deferring over and over again despite him looking to score is clearly our best bet.

The offense is literally stand around until Harden gives you the ball or be the roller in a PnR, and if Harden or Kyrie don't take the shot, you'll get the ball.

I keep having this feeling that our ungodly individual offensive talent will ultimately end up being our demise.

Teams that don't have great offensive players have to rely on structure/good plays and running those plays hard to beat the opposition. But if they do it correctly, they will lead to easier shots for everyone.

We often marvel at the shots Kyrie, Harden, and even KD make to a certain extent but a lot of the shots they take are hard shots that only the elite of the elite can make. Sure, these guys make the shots look easy, but they are nonetheless difficult shots.

Ideally, we should only be taking those shots when you absolutely need to, but our stars are basically playing like its pickup basketball. They each have their turn at scoring in whatever manner they'd like.

Compare the quality of shots that the shots our opponents take. We routinely give up layups, dunks, backdoor cuts, and open threes, yet a lot of our shots outside of some 3s are low quality shots. We should be scoring 130-140 points simply because of the gravity our stars possess as a collective unit. But when we spam ISO so much we actually diminish our team's overall potency because whoever doesn't have the ball becomes a mere spot-up shooter.

Defense is definitely the most important thing for us to address, but I'd also challenge people to just watch our guys when Kyrie and Harden have the ball. There's barely any off-ball movement. A lot of players are rhythm/momentum shooters. Standing in one-spot just waiting for a pass takes you out of any momentum you possess.

And don't get me started on some of Harden's dribble ISOs and then dump offs to teammates when the shot clock is under 5 seconds....

Isn't he out with a hamstring strain? I think I read that on the pregame report.

I'm done watching this team for awhile, not wasting anymore of my limited existence on this planet on this embarrassment.

Harden was not worth what we gave up for him. I thought he was an offensive beast who could put up close to 40 every night.

He hasn't even been close to that. Why was it worth tearing our team apart for him? Make the case.

I think we're getting really close to the point where the team has to look into cutting some of the non-guaranteed guys and trading Joe Harris + Dinwiddie for multiple defensive complimentary pieces. The rotation needs a rehaul. The effort on defense + the boards is awful but at some point, that's just who we are. Can't expect things to magically turn things around. The defense has been a disaster.

With KD, we're still incredibly dangerous but this stuff just isn't sustainable. It's playing with fire to even go into the post season with this roster.
