It's blasphemy to have a different view point from pretending the same games as you and you alone.
The amount of absurd **** you've said on a regular basis really gives that impression. Kyrie is a top 15 player in this league, a dynamite iso scorer who also excels in an off ball role, can do secondary playmaking, and we had our best winning stretch of regular season when it was just Harden & Kyrie. Yet somehow, a fellow Nets fan is saying that they're redundant and we should listen for offers. This is the take I expect from fans of other teams who don't really watch our team play and hate Kyrie, not a Nets fan.

Nothing absurd, be objective and not biased. There's no wrong in listening to offers. If the offer is substantially freat, that should be considered! Kyrie is amazing there's no question nor slander but who I rather have out there healthy? Harden or Kyrie?

Like you said, that stretch had who involved? HARDEN and Ky... nothing in my posts belittled Kyrie or him as a player.

Also there were games when Kyrie didn't get the team going before Harden n after... so it's not all positive. But that's not a knock, there can be ways to improve the team without it being a negative view on a player.

But hey I pretend to watch the same games

Saying you would never trade Kyrie is absurd since no one knows what the package would be. If you could get Lillard for Kyrie , of course you'd do it. I can think of about 15 individual players and 20 combinations of two very good players that would be worth it, especially given the injury history.
But this is never going to happen. Kyrie and Durant are tied at the hip. No reason to get Durant upset.

There is one thing called LOYALTY, Kyrie was a nets fan during Kidd era , thats a main reason he decided to join Nets , without Kyrie there is no Durant in Brooklyn, no Harden either , why we even discuss trading Kyrie ?

He is who he is , he gonna take few games here and there for personal reasons, let it be , there is not 1% Kyries fault for our early playoff exit , yet we having discussions about trading Kyrie , go to general board and trade him for **** simmons and then watch him whole season missing FT and blowing layups

The focus is health and defense/rebounding/size
Nash offense is fine especially with any combination of 2 of the 3 stars added by Joe, random games from role players and the 3pt shooting currently in the league.
Use the MLE
Sign and Trade Spencer Dinwiddie
trade DJ for a playable rotation piece
DJ and Spencer was 21 Million unused for most of the season and all of the postseason. It’s a testament that the others did so well but looking at any other big 3 in history taking away 21 Million from their supporting cast would be devastating. You can’t complain about the use of the MLE as it’s essentially free money but it’s usually already in play with a contender going on a run.
We clearly like small ball. We need to bring in the types of players and bodies that work well negating the detrimental aspect of it. More wings and tweeners. Kyrie has the be the smallest player in the rotation. Bring in the PJ Tucker/Iggy/Danny Green/Batum/Ariza/Paul Millsap/Torrey Craig type players, guys who are big defenders who can box out and hit the occasional long ball. The more the merrier. Just so you can pull and plug whoever is having the better game.
The five out offense is fine but winning defensively should be an option as well as closing the gap in 2nd chance/offensive rebounds(terrible regular season rank but top 10 in opponents FG%. We have zero problem making them miss. That FG% also is boosted by problematic 2nd chance points. We make them take one shot and we’re actually a great defense).
Bringing back Jeff and Blake are also to do’s. While not needle movers they clearly fit the offense and defensive philosophy. They are able to give random big games as well. They are however older so getting more of those types is extremely important as said. There should be no need to rely on role players. But that’s only an option if you have multiple playable role players.
The 1st and 2nds aren’t extremely useful to the team nor is Shamet or Nic. They could net us some useful win now pieces(Nic playoff time was extremely low. Shamet playoff production was extremely low). Using them to get better now is more important than ever.

With our stars and system the most important things are 3&D players and our biggest gain might be the Sign and Trade of Spencer Dinwiddie(possibly DJ as well).

i would not take lillard over kyrie, even if multiple firsts were involved.

2 very good players would not be worth it

its never going to happen, because kyrie is an elite player and an elite fit.

Kai dominated this season and looked so good alongside Harden. He was probably my favorite player to watch. Jaw dropping plays, man.

I think the front office knows what they are doing. I know they aren't shopping Kyrie, and they probably walk away from the negotiating table for anyone that another team would offer. But it may be a little 3D chess to encourage the mercurial star to buy in to the team concept. We never went public with frustration over his antics, but I'm sure it was an unwelcome distraction from an already challenging season.

He supposedly wants to retire here. Maybe, just maybe, knowing that Marks is listening to offers is enough to convince Irving to straighten up and fly right, before he loses his dream of retiring a Net.

Kyrie does not. Kyrie plays great and great which our team benefits from bit he doesn't make everyone better like a healthy Harden did and does.

While one for one they're aren't many values for Kyrie, agreed but if Kyrie netted us a better package of talented players and maybe pucks, I listen to that yes.

Note I didn't say force him out, but if I see 2-3 guts n picks in return to strengthen our team all around, yea im listening.

We missed him DUH, we needed him to win it all cuz apparently our 17 man roster is trimmed to 6-7 with injured players in postseason courtesy of Nash.

2nd closer, we have 3 closers with the big 3.. lol... if one goes, then it's still two closers..

This is a riddiculous argument. the team was good without Kyrie with Harden/KD. of course it was. The team also "didnt miss a beat" with KD out when they went like 19-2 with KD injured.

Saying "kyrie doesnt make anyone better" is also abusrd. he may not be an assist machine like Harden, but he demands an enormous amount of attention and has gravity. He makes guys like KD/Shamet/Harris better because they get open shots/single coverage.

Not being as good as harden is not some knock on kyrie. almost no one is as good as harden as making others better

there is no better package of talented players that has a larger impact then kyrie. he raises our ceiling a ton more then any combo of players would.

Of course its not a knock, hence why I used the word luxury....

Without KD, who was leading that charge? Harden!
Kyrie is top class no question, like I said I'm not forcing him out but to listen to offers is never off the table. It's more than assists, to say that's what Harden only does is short minded view of how Harden makes the team better vs Kyrie. It's not even close and that's not again Ky, Harden is built for that.

Ky can absorb the attention but often times he doesn't get the others going when that happens. He dominates himself which isn't a knock or slander. It's two different ballers 100%.

There is no such thing as luxury with Nash coaching the team. You need as much talent as possible to overcome his "coaching".

Lillard is not better than Kyrie at anything when it comes to basketball.

I dont see anything to point to Kyrie not buying into the team, i think he has embraced the team, the fans, and the city.

People dont like it because he didnt ask the fans permission or disclose why he was out or give them an awnser. but he let his teammates know, and they all supported him... and in the end, we found out it was because he had a kid.

The idea of trading Kyrie after a 50/40/90 season is a joke.

The hate here is irrational. Kyrie was fine until Giannis decided to pull that BS.

I agree. Trading Kyrie would be an idiotic mistake.

Do we really want to turn into Danny Ainge and the Boston Saltics?

Never rewarding loyalty and just constantly trading our guys?

Kyrie is the sole reason we got KD and Harden. He is the fan favorite. And were going to ship him away because he hurt his ankle?

What exactly does this team need to improve?

When we are all healthy we will be the best team in the NBA. We have no changes to make besides minor adjustments.

Keeping Griffin and Brown and Spencer would be a priority for me in the off-season, and hopefully Jeff Green too if that’s possible, but I kind of fell out of love with him later in the season, his defense was a real liability most of the time. And I don’t think he’s gonna shoot anywhere near as well again, this was such an outlier year for him shooting the ball.

Wasn’t Theis apparently like super interested in joining us? I would love to have him, he does everything pretty well on both sides of the ball.

Theis would be an upgrade to Green imo. More Claxton too, and that would be a really solid big man rotation if we keep Griffin.

Yessir, Daniel Theis even said, "see you next year" to Kyrie after the 2nd Boston game. That was right before they traded him to the Bulls.

I’m sensing we will see a S&T sending Spencer to the Lakers for Kuzma or Harrell.

I would S&T Dinwiddie to the Lakers for Kuzma, IF we could also swap Jordan for Harrell as part of the value exchange.

I think we could structure a double S&T for Caruso/Kuzma or Harrell. I need Prok to confirm if it’s possible to sign Caruso for Spencer.

I definitely think Sean made a huge mistake by not taking the Heat package for Spencer. Probably his biggest trade blunder.

Nunn, Igoudala, Bradley would’ve been an amazing haul in hindsight and we could’ve built on a Nunn, Shamet, Brown, Clax bench rotation going forward. Iggy, Bradley could’ve been a huge help against the Bucks.

As long as we get SOMETHING back for Dinwiddie I'm all for it.

It sucks that we'd be helping a direct rival for the chip though.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
