I like Javale Mcgee and Chase Budinger for the 10 and 21 pick...Substitute Chase with Donte Green if Chase isn't available...

With the Nenad Krstic situation being uncertain due to his free agency status and questions regarding if he'll ever be the same again pre-injury, as well as Diop being a free agent, our center position needs to be addressed. The Nets need to draft big and start looking for a big man who can possibly be our best player down low for years to come. The Nets have had problems bringing in very good big men to come play with Kidd for so many years, and the best one to play with him(Kenyon Martin)was obtained through the draft. This team needs to rebuild, and since we are set at the point guard position, this team needs to address the other most important position in the game, which is the center position.

I like Javale Mcgee. He has something in him, the same something I saw in Andrew Bynum in his first year in the NBA. I always knew Bynum would turn into a very good player one day, even when people were saying he was a bust...I was very vocal about trading Kidd for Bynum when that rumor was floating in early 2007. Javale Mcgee has similar skills to Bynum. Javale seems like a double threat being a good scorer as well as a good defender and rebounder. He has great size and mobility. He has shown a ton of upside and is only scratching the surface of what he can, and in my opinion, will become. Impressive wing span(7-6)makes blocking and altering shots easy for him. He definitely has my vote for the 10th pick.

If he isn't available, then I'll go with Deandre Jordan. Another center oozing with potential.

^Good points Nenad could use some competition in the frontcourt.
Darrell Arthur is a stud allready in college. He can fill the athletic big man who can hit a jumpshot the Nets love.
I got the burner-Kevin Durant

Thats the problem, the Nets don't need an athletic big man. We need a true, old fashioned center. We need a monster on the boards and a brick in the paint. DeAndre Jordan would be perfect. He is athletic, but unlike Sean Williams, his game isn't incorporated from that. Jordan is a 7 footer who would open up the paint for VC & RJ. He will also help out Sean getting better looks down low. If he gets a heavier, he could be that dominant force in the middle for us.

I like your thinking...Honestly, It's a toss up for me with either Javale Mcgee or Deandre Jordan...I hope Thorn checks them both out and selects the better player...

I also read somewhere that Thorn was thinking about packaging the picks to get an earlier pick...If he's succesful, I'm thinking the pick can be anywhere between 6-9...

Don't believe the hype JJ, he's not that good...

He'll be a servicable player, definitely a rotation player. But from where we are picking at, and the possibility of us moving up in the draft, we should select a big who might be a star one day in this league...

all I did was post a smiley...to see the response I would get...

first of all, I never believe the hype...and I have yet to really make a real selection...you will see my top 3-5, and some trade scenarios possibly in the near future...

so dont be jumping to conclusions...but your opinion is noted and highly respected...

I'm confused is BasketBrain who I think he is?
I think I have it narrowed down to 2 people.
Is it possible BasketBrain is a genetically altered combo clone of these 2 infamous Nets' board stalkers?

But if even he is not sure who he is sometimes...then does he even exist? Perhaps he is an entity...

YO THAT JUNK'S GOING ON MYSPACE!

...it would if I had one. Seriously though, did that make sense?

I think all the guards and shooters we need will be taken by 10. So like I've said before, we take our annual big man in DeAndre Jordan. I buy into his hype more than Kevin Love's.

That made no sense what so ever...

Anywho, the tenth pick isn't exactly a bad spot in the draft...More then likely, a stud will fall in our direction because other teams will take chances on those unknown, very hyped prospects. I think that stud will be either Deandre Jordan or Javale Mcgee...I would be happy with either one.

I guess I'm the only one wishing for a sg/sf this year.

If the player is an absolute stud I wouldn't mind picking a sg/sf. I just don't trust Thorn in selecting a guard(Zoran, Brandon Armstrong, Antoine Wright, all first round picks). He did draft Jordan but that was 25 years ago, and a no brainer pick as well...

I just think there's a possibility that an Amare Stoudamire/Andrew Bynum type player could be in this draft, a completely overlooked STUD that falls down to the top of the lottery. Somebody like a Javale Mcgee or a Deandre Jordan.

I do however, want to select a SF for the 21st pick...I would love if Budinger or Dante Green fall to 21.

Both scare me as I feel both will end up like Wright with not being NBA 3-Pt ready. Gun to head...Dante Greene can shoot over many of his defenders whether playing the 2 or 3. The thing is...his lack of speed could make it harder to look for his shot. Budinger is quick, but if ever he's trapped, I'm not confident that he could dribble his way out or look for the open man. Budinger is more athletic, but Greene's natural height makes him a better team rebounder. Gun to head...just shoot me. I can't decide. :D

How great would it be if they both combined into one great player?

(I have nothing to say about Green or Budinger but I saw a power rangers picture and couldn't resist)

PS: Brandon Rush FTW(with the 21st pick)
