Brook isn't aggressive, doesn't move very well, and is the slowest person I've ever seen. Doesn't matter how bad or good the coach is, he needs to work on those things if he ever wants to get better. Every time I see him he never goes hard to the basket like every other big man.

I would still take Brook over Avery for the very reason that he has greater value to the team.

I bet you can't trade Avery with a pack of skittles...

He's got the tools. You're going to throw out what he's shown in his previous 2 seasons under a different coach just because he' struggling this season? Tell me what big man has Johnson helped develop in his coaching career? None. He just doesn't see that this team's real foundation is in its big men. Both Brook and Favors. It boggles me that a man that was a part of the same team as the Duncan-Robinson duo has absolutely no idea how to build a system around big men. And I'm not dropping those two names to imply that that is what Brook-Favors will be, but come on. BOTH of them have talent. You've got a team that has a bunch of **** shooters (aside from Harris, Vujacic, and Morrow) and yet you decide to have a system built around shooters? What shooters do we have that we have to keep on holding Brook and Favors back for? Who?

It just seems like most of you believe brook is an all star center or will be one. And he's not going to be. He's not someone you can build a team around. He's not a star. Maybe if he didn't turn the ball over every time he got doubled team or went hard to the hoop for once Avery would play him in important situations.

Anyways, back to the whole melo thing. Now people are talking about memphis, knicks, denver deal.

Honest Question: How did this whole Melo to the Nets thing even start?

Thinking back now, it never really made much sense to me. I just remember Paul wanted out for awhile and nothing happened. Then it was stated that Melo was gonna come here.

He never signed his extension and we had everything Denver was looking for.Except for that precious capspace that we gave away for Murphy.Thats why now we have to give up Devin to.

I don't think the cap space would have saved Devin, because honestly, I think our FO would have preferred Billups and I would agree with them.

Billups is still the better player and the better actual point guard.

Plus his contract is a year shorter, so it opens up more possibilities.

What I think it would have saved us is the better of the draft picks.

I also think there would have been a very real possibility of getting Nene to NJ.

I also think it might have gotten done sooner, so this stupid Rip scenario may have never manifested itself.

In hindsight, that deal with Charlotte involved is looking infinitely better.

Only thing I'm gonna add is that, although I've supported this deal (not written because I rarely post anymore), I'm gonna punch a baby if Al Harrington is put back in the deal.

The only 2 things I'm willing to do more at this point is:

1. Get Dajuan Summers from Detroit like the rumors have mentioned at times.

2. Take JR Smith. They wouldnt get more than a #2/Cash from me for the deal, but it saves them the rest of his contract this year. He's a jersey guy and an expiring. If we're moving Morrow, we need a shooter off the bench. Sometimes I think Melo hates him though so I don't know. JR is a nutjob, but I'd deal with him for half a season.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else I'd be willing to take on.

Raptors fan here... I think you guys should take Harrington... You will be kind of thin at the 4 and he is a decent scorer...

If we take back Harrington we might as well change the name to the New Jersey Nuggets. Im trying not to get too worked up over the latest rumor from DA that the trade is definitely gonna happen next week. Im just going to wait until I turn on ESPN, or get a text message from my reliable sources, or check out realgm and see the trade is official.

Question if trade rumors are affecting the Nuggets play how are the Nets really expected to get better?
No faith is shown in the current roster and they all are on the trading block.
Bad enough ALL publicly
How can they really come together under circumstances

Return to Brooklyn Nets
