Well, you can't call Joe a salary dump. A salary dump is when you want to get rid of a bad contract and a player not delivering a meaningful on-court value. The Hawks did receive cap relief in that deal, but they also gave up an all-star level player. Give me an all-star level player and I'm literally taking any "salary dump", regardless of the pick we receive, if any at all.

I think it has less to do with the body fat itself but more than it's already a sign of a lack of work ethic and maturity when you show up at the Combine in not your best possible shape despite knowing that your career is on the line.

Joe Johnson was a salary dump and at that time, the worst contract in the sport. The Nets got pounded eight ways from wednesday on that deal. Billy King is a jackass, bar none

Yes he was a salary dump, but in my opinion, he was not the worst contract in the sport. He was probably paid about 25-30% more than he should have been, but at least he was a borderline allstar. There were and are a lot worse dead money deals than JJ's was.

I'd be pleased with this. Long term building for a brighter future. A lot of win now (lin) fans won't like the pick.

Eh - win now fans aren't necessarily synonymous with Lin fans. I've made an argument in the Sean Marks thread that one way to go for the Nets would be to tank for 2019 by getting rid of Lopez and even Lin.

This aside, Kurucs seems like Bogs from the scouting report (good shooting 6-8er but with questionable defense).

I find it hard to believe that we would leak something like that. But if true, I don't mind it. Bogdanovic comparisons are inevitable but I think his ceiling is much higher than Bogdanovic, and at 19, he's one of the youngest prospects in the draft.

Yea but that's for a mid 2nd round pick, not a big deal. I don't think teams plan to leak who they would like to pick with their 1st round pick (unless they're doing it deliberately to make other teams panic).

It's bound to leak for international players because of the conversations with their ACB clubs.

No, he's much more athletic than Bogdanovic and actually has potential to be a 2 way player with his length & athleticism (also plays with more aggression & energy). His long term potential comparison might actually be Nic Batum rather than Bogdanovic. However, being 19, he's still physically developing (needs to add weight to his frame), his ball handling skills are basic, and he has an injury history already. Still though, his skillset is advanced for a 19 year old.

as long as one of these picks is a big that can move his feet, defend, and rebound i don't care.

Would love to get Harkless but he is with Portland long term. Anybody will do except Turner, can't stand him.

Portland would have to offer Harkless or Crabbe.

Crabbe + 26
Harkless, Leonard + 20
Turner + 15

That's the bar. Harkless fits, Crabbe fits. Turner does not and his contract sucks.
