no choice for the raps.. they need to keep these guys and hope someone young can contribute. if niguera/siakim/poetl/og can give them something the next 3 years they can improve. if not push the reset button then. Lowry reported close to a 3 year deal as well. lines up with derozan

Masai is smart... paying his proven talent but putting a 3 year expiration date on winning with this group. i mean they dont get past lebron but you still dont blow up a 55+ win team of guys in their prime to join the tanking teams.

Agreed - basically means that the raps will look to move Jonas/Carroll. We should look to acquire another asset if we take on one of them

I want no part of JV. dude is like a poor mans lopez without the threes, upside, and efficient scoring. big, slow... terrible fit. id need a lotto pick to take him.

Carrole id take without much else. one of Nogiera/bruno/poetl and a second does it for me. i dont love poetl but he is still on a rookie deal with positive value.

Nogiera/2nd carrole for hamilton.

I give up boys.

Time for us to accept that Otto Porter is getting matched and we will be paying KCP 100 million dollars.

Sigh.

I'm not convinced they match on Porter... in fact if they were going to max him i think he'd already be signed. they met with him at 12:01 to try and work out a contract and failed. that tells me either porter wanted the full 5 year max or the wixards offered less then the 4 year max.

porter would be crazy to play on the qualifying offer. so i cant see him turning down the 4 yea rmax if the wiz offered it. i think saying "we will match on anything? is a smokescreen. if you will match anything why say it? just do it when it happens.

they are probably trying to low ball him. im not sure they match max. im sure they dont want to even if they end up doing it

The Wizards have to match Porter because if they don't, then they risk losing John Wall to free agency down the road.

Hes not going to stay if he doesn't think their committed to spending.

The Wizards haven't offered him a max yet because they're not certain that the Nets are going to offer him that yet. That's the only reason.

Wall will make them more than enough money to cover the luxury tax. He just became a household name after last year's playoffs and will be starting in the All-Star game next year.

Perhaps they will pursue Carmelo and Gay instead? Two DMV wings.

they have to pay porter the max whether the nets sign him to an offer sheet or not... porter has the leverage... he can threaten o play on the QO and alk as a UFA after the season.

Porter's agent is david falk. he wont let the wiz turn the screws to his guys

John Wall is there to stay, he just signed a 5 year extension with the Wizards a few days ago... Wizards are in a tough position, they should of tried to sign and trade Porter and other pieces to get Paul George, it was stated that Wall was trying hard to make Wizards front office go after PG, that would of been too much fun to watch.

Luke Kennard played great yesterday, he had a stretch where he played solid defense I was a bit surprised. I think Ntilikina is injured, I'm not sure though.

You're wrong. John Wall has not signed his 5 year extension. Hes waiting to see what the Wizards do in Free Agency first.

I'm sure the Wizards wanted to try and trade Porter for George, but the Pacers didn't want to do that.

But the Wizards don't have any cap space to get Rudy Gay.

Only way they get Carmelo is if they trade Porter. I suppose they could do that.

Ntilikina has knee soreness so he isn't playing for now.

Smart move by toronto... i like what Masai is doing... bringing back all their top guys but doing it on 3 years. puts an expiration date on their current core. isnt falling into this new "win a ring or tank for 5 years" cultre. Toronto has one of the biggest/loyalist fan bases... he isnt going to throw away a perrenial 50 win team on them just because they cant beat cavs/GSW.

give this core a 3 year shot, then when lebron is older look to change things up.
