I know he's young. He's also a malcontent holding a team hostage, and has his team leaking stuff to the media making that situation over there in Cleveland a disaster. That's a major red flag to me.

I know when you see him you see the insane level of talent. So I don't blame you for wanting him here.

Can't tell if you're talking about Irving or Lebron  but let's just give Bron a pass for holding the franchise hostage, quitting on Blatt, forcing the owner & GM to sign his friends to exorbitant contracts that are ultimately crippling the team from being truly competitive against the warriors because....ringzzz

oh...I'm not giving Lebron a pass.

I don't blame Irving for getting a head start on bolting out of there either since it was getting obvious that Lebron was going to bolt to another team next season.

I just don't want any part of the nonsense over here...especially with Irving's free agency looming.

I'd rather embrace the natural trajectory of this team as well, because going out of the franchise's way in order to acquire high profile players has never worked out for a tri-state basketball franchise (apart from Jason Kidd). Nowadays, a franchise is better off building something good that other players want to contribute to.

Kevin Seraphin for peanuts, anyone? 3rd string big body to play 10 minutes while Allen develops.

Not sure he fits in the culture thing, got some problem with conditioning, discipline and stuff.

Fair enough. No point in bringing in anyone close to a problem to be a 3rd stringer. Wonder if this rumoured big man trade os far away?

I like Bogut, David Lee, as potential big men for Nets if they can be signed for close to vet minimum deals. They both would be good mentors for young Jarrett.

So Carmelo only wants the Rockets. Should the Nets get in on this? Probably have to take on Anderson, but we could probably get a couple future firsts too.
Houston gets Anthony and Quincy Acy
NY gets Carrol, Lin, and Booker
Brooklyn gets Anderson, Ariza, Kyle O'Quinn, and two future firsts from Houston

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8oyetyz

Russell, Dinwiddie, Whitehead
Crabbe, LeVert, Kilpatrick
Ariza, RHJ, Harris
Anderson, O'Quinn
Mozgov, Allen

Thoughts?

You would struggle to score. Russell hasn't shown he can run a team. All your starters except Russell lack ability to create their own shots. It would be a steady diet of pnr with Russell and that can be easily defended.

We already have 3 terrible contracts.

Why would we take a 4th one?

No thanks. I don't care if we get two first round picks.

It literally ruins any flexibility we have.

We can still add a max contract next year if we move Lin.

Agreed no way we give up Lin AND take back salary for a bunch of late 20s picks in years where we'll have our own picks back.

Carroll would be going out in this trade though. That being said Anderson is a worse contract than Carrol mostly because it has 3 years left instead of 2.

We don't need the rockets picks. We are back in the 2018 draft, and we get our own picks back in 2019.
