Yeah, I'm not doing that. **** helping out a title contender when you're receiving garbage like Kuzma in return. Lakers would need to begin the conversation with THT (who I still don't think that highly of) or Nets should hang up.Paradise wrote:I’m sensing we will see a S&T sending Spencer to the Lakers for Kuzma or Harrell.

What a nightmare.
I think we could structure a double S&T for Caruso/Kuzma or Harrell. I need Prok to confirm if it’s possible to sign Caruso for Spencer.
I definitely think Sean made a huge mistake by not taking the Heat package for Spencer. Probably his biggest trade blunder.
Nunn, Igoudala, Bradley would’ve been an amazing haul in hindsight and we could’ve built on a Nunn, Shamet, Brown, Clax bench rotation going forward. Iggy, Bradley could’ve been a huge help against the Bucks.
You're dropping all sorts of gems today, P. I didn't know that the Miami offer included Kendrick, that does sound like a mistake not to take it. I figured Bradley and iguodala were part of the package, because Andrea's so tight with Kevin and Avery served with Kyrie in the Players Union.

If Marks turned down Dinwiddie for Iggy, Nunn, and Bradley, he'd better have had a good reason.

My reason would be those are 2 poor cooked players who cant crack the rotation (iggy/bradley; who helped no one post deadline) and none who is kind of a chucking bricklayer who freezes out teammates
id have hung up before they even got the full offer out

Yeah, I cant imagine harrell would play... he would sit on the bench between Jordan and Claxton hoping he gets the 8 minutes alloted to a non-shooting biig
Kuzma does fit well as a wing who doesnt shoot and he doesnt have much dog in him.
hard pass.

Everyone knows I love Harrell, but i cant see the nets trading for him, even if it is to unload DJ. I think they would look to do a deal that adds caruso without Harrell being involved. Netsfan is better suited to awnser the double sign and trade thing. but it would hard cap both teams, and i cant see either hard capping them selves on a deal that bring in role guys.

Iggy and Bradley are 3 & D guys who no longer shoot well from 3 and who kind of stick defensively as well. Age/Injuries have hurt both.... you dont trade vet 3 & D guys if they are good. both guys stunk before and after trades.
Iggy has been god awful from three for like 5 y ears. Bradley could barely see the floor this year and stunk on both ends.
those guys are name value, i doubt they would ave seen any minutes in the playoffs for us.

Is this a joke? Iggy is retirement age and washed at this point, Nunn is a low iq/undersized chucker, and Bradley was a non-factor this year for either of the teams he played for. That's a **** offer.MrDollarBills wrote:If Marks turned down Dinwiddie for Iggy, Nunn, and Bradley, he'd better have had a good reason.

Re: Going forward to next season and beyond
Harrell has a player option for next season, which I'd assume he would opt of. The other critical factor is that Harrell's agent is Rich Paul and I don't think Rich Paul would want Harrell to come to the Nets regardless. Rich Paul will likely to secure a long term deal for Harrell with a team like the Hornets, who can pay him good money and had previous interest in him.Prokorov wrote:Paradise wrote:I think we could structure a double S&T for Caruso/Kuzma or Harrell. FWIW, I would absolutely LOVE Iggy from 2-3 years ago to be a Net, he's one of the best role players of all time, and the ultimate glue guy despite being a mediocre shooter. But Iggy is 37 now and the decline is showing in his production on both ends. Miami will likely decline his huge salary for next season anyways, and waive him, so he might end up being available for vet minimum for us. For vet min, I would likely take him.

Yeah but that hasn't happened yet man, S&T is a possibility, and if it happens, the return will likely be better than that. Also if we keep Dinwiddie (re-sign him), even if he's a bit redundant, that's better than whatever we get back in any of the situations.MrDollarBills wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Is this a joke? Re: Going forward to next season and beyond
It's a shame there isn't any mechanism where we can turn 20M for Dinwiddie into resignings of Uncle Jeff, Blake and Bruce. With Brown we have his bird rights. Blake and Jeff are going to have to leave good money on the table to re-sign.
If the option is there to keep Din and there's no immediate favorable deal on the table I think we have to do it. We could very well find ourselves in a situation where we have Big 3 + DJ, Joe, Clax, AJ, Sham + vet mins (more of the TLC variety than Blake). At some point you have to roll with talent over fit. Plus it's not like Din isn't versatile or willing to take on different roles.

Small sample size (three games, eep), but Spencer's rebounding rate doubled in the minutes he played, and his defensive rating would have been top 5-10 in the league by the advanced stats I'm seeing. oO
Assuming that projects (which is a big "if"), seems to me it would be pretty amazing to have a hotshot defensive wing who could also run the offensive when needed.
Then again, hard to know if DWid would be happy playing that kind of role all season.

I can't see the team shelling out 20 million per for a 6th man.
Granted, we could use Spencer to firm up our depth in case someone out of the big 3 has to miss time. But I doubt the team does it.
Also, I'm not certain if sign and trades hard cap us at this point.

Re: Going forward to next season and beyond
Dinwiddie has the ability to slot in 1-3, so it's not a bad idea to try to retain him. Having him allows us to do very effective load management with Kyrie & Harden as well, and lessens our reliance on Joe.MrDollarBills wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Yeah but that hasn't happened yet man, S&T is a possibility, and if it happens, the return will likely be better than that. We can S&T Dinwiddie as long we are not receiving someone who is being signed in FA. That is my understanding.

Coaching news:
Vaughn drops out of Pelicans search.
May stick with BKN.
I would love to know exactly how our hierarchy or structure in our staff works..

He's probably waiting for Nash to hang em up....thus inherit the big 3.

I would off load Harris is a second if we could keep Dinwiddie.
Then bring in Reddick to replace him.
Dinwiddie is essential for this team. Hes a borderline All Star and a good defender.
