Its clear Nash had no idea what he was doing the minute he took this job. Was he really supposed to say no to this opportunity?
What on EARTH was Marks thinking when he hired him. He set him up for failure. He set us up for failure.
It was an unforgivable mistake. He could have easily just signed Dantoni or Tye Lue. Two good coaches who knew what they were doing.
Why did you have to go this bizarre route and take a risk with our team?
The sad part is I think his roster construction for the most part has been pretty good. I still like the talent on this team. The coaching has just been beyond the pale.
I feel like this team has a G League level of preparation each game. We don't look like an NBA level organization.
I think that Marks should also be on the hot seat by Joe Tsai.
Marks couldn't help that Harden had hamstring issues, or that Kyrie would decide to refuse vaccination. I'm not upset at him over stuff he can't control.
I am absolutely upset that he thought that hiring Nash to steer a team with a limited championship window was remotely a good idea, and he owns that 100%.
I have said since the summer that this roster needed one or two more shooters. Marks opted to rest his laurels on our offensive guys being healthy all year, which was foolish considering how bad our health was last year with the big 3. If you are going to sign Bembry, why even resign Bruce Brown, who has no role on the team now that we don't run MDA's offense? Did we need Milsap when we already had Blake? These are really bad decisions.
Marks needs to fix this situation, or he should be fired. Period.
