Looks like Ayton is not in the cards. Phoenix is working on finding a third team for him. The Royce trade and the Mills re-sign is killing our ability to get under the hard cap.
Unless Marks plan is to tell KD, sorry Phoenix doesn't work because of the hard cap and Miami doesn't work because of Bam's designated rookie status. You're going to Toronto/Memphis/Cleveland or staying here.

That pick is going to suck
Nets have to stay competetive (they don't have their own picks)
They know they will have picks coming in via trades (you can only use so many)
I think it was a fine deal.

It's the worst of Hou/Brk/Phl. We'll still have one next year and likely to soon have many more.

I'm pulling for 5 destinations:
1. Toronto - Barnes as the centerpiece and picks, whatever else is included. VanVleet for Kyrie as a combo meal?
2. Portland - Sharpe, Simons, picks
3. Denver - Murray/MPJ, any picks or swaps allowed(they owe 3 going forward)
4. New Orleans - Ingram, Holmes, picks
5. Utah - for Mitchell if they get all crazy in Salt Lake
I don't think OKC or Boston are realistic.
I wouldn't hate Miami at all if it wound up Hero and Bam to a 3rd team for something dope, with picks.
I also wouldn't rule out Miami as Kyrie's landing spot if KD is dealt elsewhere, for Lowry and pick(s) and salary filler.
And I know it's a kind of dumb one for BK, but I wouldn't mind:
Paul Geore, Mann, picks, filler

What sucks is we basically only got 2 seasons out of KD.
Year 1: We were cooking the bucks even without Harden. Then Giannis injures Kyrie in game 3 which then forces us to go 7 games and lose by the toe.
Year 2: Kyrie **** on the entire season with his bull. Ruins the entire campaign.
So we only got one legit shot at the chip which was cut short due to injuries to Harden and Kyrie against the Bucks.
What bugs me is that we were a hard working team with good culture, high character guys BEFORE they showed up.
That was the reason they came in the first place. Marks and crew built this project from the rubble and handed the keys to them.
If KD was really all about "championship habits" and winning mentality as he says, then why the **** does he coddle Kyrie so much?
Kyrie's bull is the negative cloud that **** all over this project.
The constant drama that comes with Kyrie made it impossible for the franchise to focus on winning, yet KD doesn't hold his boy accountable for his bs, instead he backs him and requests a trade because his boy didn't get the bag.
KD is an all time great talent, but leader? **** that.
Guys like Kobe, MJ, Shaq, even Bron have that leadership DNA which KD just simply does not.
Guys like Dennis Rodman, Ron Artest, etc could have easily derailed those teams, but they had LEADERS that took care of it.
We didn't, simple as that.

As he should.
KD has zero leverage.
KD should not be dealt for anything less than an offer that keeps the Nets in the playoff hunt.

Claxton getting a new deal means Nets do not want Ayton.
That basically eliminates the Sun as a trade partner.
Heat simply don't have enough.
New Orleans makes sense. Boston is still my favorite, although I doubt they want him.

All these teams, Nets included, are making moves that are going to box KD into staying. The Lakers essentially had the same situation when Kobe demanded a trade. They kept him & it all worked out. Of course Kobe didn't have an Irving parasite attached to him.

It might be a possibility.
Suns are no longer a possibility basically. Heat will never be.
Does Durant really want to go to New Orleans or Utah?
I don't think its likely. But I'm not ruling it out.
Problem is Kyrie is going reek havoc if we don't trade him to the Lakers.

We gave these guys everything they wanted and asked for we can’t keep letting them get their way. I’m over it now. I thought things were getting back to “normal” after the Kyrie opt in but this comes out and we’re in more drama. I miss the hardworking D Lo days. Y’all can have this. I want them gone now.

Both players have zero leverage now.
KD can either find a team that can deliver us a good return, or he can sit.
We should trade Kyrie to LAL, but Westbrook needs to be routed elsewhere.

Why acquiesce to Durant's request for a trade?
Unless a team comes forward with a great trade package, Durant stays and plays for the Nets. Same with Irving.

Getting injured could tank a lot of his trade value, particularly at age 34.

Keeping him away from the team and off the court if he acts up will help with preventing injury.

It's very disappointing to see when a team rolls out the red carpet to players and give them the keys to the franchise for them to only act the way they did.NetsJets wrote:We gave these guys everything they wanted and asked for we can’t keep letting them get their way. Hopefully you can get fair compensation for KD and move on.

This would've never spun out of control if LeBron was the head of this franchise. IDGAF
Nets made the risk when they began this with DJ, Irving, and Durant.
it was a risk i think most teams take, but KD coming off achilles injury, Irving was always a headcase, and DJ was absolutely done when he was signed with the nets.
the risks were clearly there IMO

I think the Nets probably agreed with Utah on that trade before KD requested a trade. I think the idea was to bring Oneal in as a wing defender next to KD but then KD asked out right after we gave up the asset SMH selfish players
