Claxton is guaranteed gonna be an all-star. His mobility and his speed and reaction time and coordination are just insane. He's also strong af and his post moves and touch around the basket and shot repertoire are growing quickly. BK did an excellent scouting job with him, because even with KD gone, he's effectively providing at least all-star impact, basically the impact we all hoped Ben would give.

Great efforts the last four games. JV with an inspirational post game interview. Off to the next one.

Need someone to make the game thread for tomorrow’s game against the pistons.

Nic is incredible. We need a backup for him.

Ben needs to go. I rather sign and play Will Barton.

the refs definitely saved Philly on that one lol Embiid is a big flopper and it's such a shame, he's that big and he has to flop around like a fish lol . Simmons never traveled and he shouldn't have got that tech at all. Niang really came in his face yelling. Joe Harris was called for 2 bogus fouls especially the last one on Embiid. Man we gotta get the robot refs in here. Did you guys know that the Nets are dead last in the NBA in free throws? I wonder why, there is definitely an agenda. And giving Claxton free throws don't count.

Anyway, Claxton balled on Embiid hard in this game. He definitely outplayed him and if it wasn't for the refs saving him he would have alot less points. Claxton had him on lock. Harden is a lil bihhh and still a flopper. Dude just shoots 3s and runs to the rim praying for a whistle, that won't work in the playoffs. Maxey and Melton are real ballers tho. And tobias a little bit too. With KD this is a different outcome. The was at full strength and had to rely on the refs to save them. Nice to see Ben Simmons being more aggressive and Seth showed up. Only if they can play like this every game . Still need to make a trade, use Patty contract to get something.

Defense and rebounding is a bigger issue than Ben not scoring. Yes, the team needs more offensively from Ben but the issue has never been offense for this team.

Sick of fans only caring about pts when no team outside of top10 defense wins championships. Sigh

Simmons is really bad. I'd take anyone with a half decent jumper who isn't afraid to shoot over him.

The guy was a -16 in a game that we lost by 4 points. Our best stretches were pretty consistently whenever he was on the bench.

Get out of here

We're actually the #8 defense in the NBA so we're pretty good and we should get better with more chemistry and when KD comes back. But we def can still get better because Joe Harris is a black hole on defense and offense at this point. We do need a back up big man but we also need another 2 way wing player or 2.

I said it during the offseason - there is a reason Dinwiddie called him the second most talented player on the team after KD. I was expecting a big year from him but he's been even better.

I think he was a point forward at UGA and took threes, so there might be a baseline skill level there he hasn't even shown yet.

Exactly, we aren't far off. Defense is propped up by Clax, KD. Ben also is defending well. Just need a couple of minor moves.

The Ben Simmons narrative is nauseating atp.

Agree. Caruso or Josh Richardson would be great.

Opposition teams just get too many offensive boards against us. I know it’s been mentioned a lot but John Collins would be a perfect fit for us. I know he’s not shooting well from deep this year but still isn’t afraid to take one. Hits free throws at a high clip can defend his position and maybe even cover the 5 spot for small stretches. Most importantly he can help us secure the rebound. It seems Atlanta don’t want the world for him, and I think he could play to his contract

facts I remember that. Yea I remember when we drafted him they did say he can shoot 3s and dribble too, I do remember that. There is still untapped potential in there with Claxton so the future is still bright for us. We should of locked him up for 4 years but whatever I just hope he stays with us for years, love this kid.

He is so good finishing around the rim. And it's not just dunks, he is really skilled and has a lot of room to improve.

I tell ya boys, the refs blew the Nets out. They were all carrying Embiid doing whatever they can to get him to the finish line.

I’ll be honest man, I really don’t think it’s unreasonable criticisms of Simmons.

To be clear, I’ve never been a Simmons believer, just think he’s way too limited offensively, both because he can’t shoot, and because he’s too passive. I think that essentially makes him a defensive role player that can make an occasional nice pass.

That’s not a great player. That’s not even a good player. I really don’t think you can be a positive contributor in the modern NBA, especially playing big minutes as a ball dominant player, and be this much of a liability offensively…unless you’re someone like Bruce Brown who does a ton of work and movement off the ball and constantly finds openings in the defense and puts himself in good position…which makes him not a liability on offense…and even he has worked on his jumper and a is a legit 3pt threat now.

Like, if Bruce Brown is a better option than you, and you’re getting paid the max and are supposedly the 3rd cog in this machine, something is wrong.

Simply being a good defender isn’t enough.
