Either get him or Washington is in cap hell trying to extend Wall and resign Oubre (who we steal next year)
Miami is trying to dump Tyler Johnson and the Blazers can't do a thing with their massive cap bill.

Oh god if we "steal" Oubre I might cry... I want nothing to do with him.

Great 2K player but not a very good one in real life.

yeah I mean the side bar to this is that Marks is screwing teams over with these RFA pushes. I knew Portland would regret matching last year

I wonder if the delay is because they are negotiating a trade? Sending them a cheap replacement (SKIL) and a large trade exception would be beneficial over losing him for nothing, possibly even beneficial over locking them into 10M of luxury tax as well. Then they could resign Bogs and probably make another midlevel signing as well.

Ok.. doesn't have to be him. Just saying we keep crippling teams from signing their own players and others.

I wouldn't mind trading Skil for Porter. But a sign and trade requires the consent of Porter. And if that is the path, then I hope the contract has no trade kickers or player options....those clauses are intended to hurt the team in order to dissuade matching, not to hurt yourself in a sign and trade. But removing such terms makes the contract less favorable to the player. So if those clauses were in the original offer pitched to Porter, he might not be happy or agree to their removal in a sign-and-trade. It would suck to do a sign and trade and still be stuck with such clauses.

I believe thats Marks intentions dating back to last year...

He's going to funnel all the max to be FAs to Brooklyn...

So we are 3 teams down, 26 to go in our plan to RFA the league to death

Either that or artificially create his own trade/salary dump market. He's now created 3 possible opportunities for salary dumps and asset acquisition with these max RFA offers.

Wizards are matching 100%. Better move on to next free agent.

if the Wizards are so eager to match, why won't they just present a better offer to Otto's agent?

I don't know but they signed Meeks with a different execption than what was agreed to avoid getting hard capped so they can match Porter offer.

Yeah, very similar to Miami's moves last season before Tyler Johnson match.

So Detroit can't match any offer over 16m for KCP without shedding salary. Should we offer KCP 17m per year?
