Amirite?

Jason Kidd lead the greatest post-ABA Nets team to two consecutive eastern conference finals amidst it's weakened competition in a Cinderella fashion. They got swept both times by the Duncan Spurs + Shaq & Kobe Lakers. They then tried to add Vince Carter to get over the hump, which failed as they were unable to recoup the losses their roster took in the processes + younger Eastern Conference teams ascended, like the young LeBron Cavs & the Dwayne Wade Heat.

Either way, Kyrie wanting out of Cleveland is probably good news for us. More trade possibilities where we can be a third team.

I bet he wants to be a Net, he grew up a huge Nets fan.

Russell, taking a bad contract, RHJ, Raps pick get it done?

not oppose nor for it yet.... but can we trade Russell now? or wait til after dec?

Wonder if we'd try something like Lin, Torontos first next year, kilpatrick for kyrie?

Offseason prediction? Lebron gets traded to the Lakers.

This Kyrie stuff is too reminiscent of Kobe vs Shaq, and we all know the smart move for the franchise is to stick with their emerging superstar.

This is being discussed - I think CLE is going to want more -- maybe 1st from NY?

CLE receives Carmelo & Bledsoe. NYK receives Kyrie & Chandler PHX receives Love & Ntilikina.

I really don't care if he ends up on any of those teams. It impacts us in no way unless Marks wants to offer to take back some salary and a 1st rder.

so now the Western conference will end up being a nightly slaughterhouse with multiple super teams. we can quietly build ourselves up and maybe even pad our record a bit in the weak east to become more FA appealing. win/win

You have to admit it would be bad for us if he ends up on the Knicks.

Kyrie-Prozingis combo is scary.

Irving doesn't care about winning he just wants to be "the man". I worry only about the Nets. Period.

We weren't swept by the Spurs, lost in 6 and game 6 was super close right til the very end.

It's crazy how people act like the Nets weren't competitive in the Spurs series and as if they DID NOT have a chance to win it all because of how badly the Lakers dumped on them the year before...

We should hope NY plays the long game with Carmelo for a few months and then swoop in and help facilitate a deal with Houston.

I'd love to get Qi from the Rockets. Imagine this kid with J. Allen next to him.

I keep seeing people from fans, to media, saying how much they love the Kings off-season...

Me... personally? I think it was downright awful. I don't hate the Fox pick, but I don't like it either and I hate their trade down, especially if you took Fox, they should have snagged Mitchell as the long term back court. I know they have Heild and he really turned it on after the trade, but even Mitchell as a super sub would have been fine.

Sure they got some bargains in free agency, but what is their direction? And how do they pieces compliment each other and the young guys?

IDK.

I disliked the Harry Giles reach for them, but I really like Fox and Justin Jackson for them. Like you said, Heild is probably the reason why they didn't look to pick Mitchell. Hill for relatively cheap is a good FA acquisition for them too.

I think it all comes down to how much you believe in the potential of their young guys. Randolph and Vince signed to help mentor the youngsters; Hill got paid and will mentor to a lessor extent.

Fox is fast but I don't see a guy who will be a franchise PG. IMO, he can be a fantastic 6th man on a contender if he's willing to accept that role. Right now, his ego is much bigger than his ceiling. With that said, he has an infectious personality. I really like him as a person.

People were trying to hype Giles back up but there's no faking 2 (or was it 3) big time knee injuries. I'd be shocked if he ever played as if he was never injured.

I don't know enough to comment on Justin Jackson. Frank Mason III is the annual loveable college senior who people hope against hope will have a successful career. Mason has a great attitude, but I see him playing overseas in the not too distant future.

Again, if you take the glass half-full (maybe 3/4 full) view of their draft picks, it was a great draft. If you take my more pessimistic view, it was simply ok. I don't think they could've done much better than what they did however that still doesn't mean those guys will end up being good.

Flashbacks of Yi Jianlian...this guy is slower and needs to put on some serious weight. He will get bodied hard this season if he doesn't gain some muscle. If he gets PT, I predict that he'll be on the wrong end of some Sportscenter top 10 highlights very soon.
