What I LOVE about that is he's all about technique on his crossovers. Nothing wild or ultra-flashy, just very, very finely practiced.

As for the Magic quote... I take it as his view on Russell was heavily influenced by his buddy Byron Scott, who coached DLo his rookie year and butted heads with him.

The part that players don't want to play with him is BS too.

Larry Nance on DLo:

“It was tough. That’s another part you don’t necessarily think about. You’re like ‘Oh I want this guy and this guy, this guy, I’d love to play with that guy’ but you don’t really think who’s got to go in order for that to happen. With D’Angelo going, that’s the last guy remaining from my draft class with our team. Me and him kind of had a little bit of a bond there. Overall, just a really good teammate, really good guy, so I’m sad to see him go.”

“But at the same time, I hope he just tears it up in Brooklyn. I hope he averages 40, except when he plays us. He’s obviously shown he can shoot it, drive it, do what he needs to do. He’s a great passer and everything. I think he’ll have a lot of success in Brooklyn and be part of turning that thing around.”

Russell is a gym rat and wants to be better. the staff is obsessed with making guys better. i dont now if he is gingt o be an allstar or not... but no chance he doesnt improve. if he can even do what he did the second half of last year just on better efficieny he would be a very good player.

In a lengthy interview with Greg Logan, Jeremy Lin thinks he and D’Angelo Russell is “really good kid” and the two guard will get along just fine in Kenny Atkinson’s motion offense.

“I think at the end of the day, he’s a really good kid,” Lin said of Russell. “He has a good heart, and he’s a tremendous basketball player. Once he meets our team and gets in our locker room, I’m pretty sure it will be a seamless transition. I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from him as well, and hopefully he learns from me. What we want to do is create that family atmosphere where we’re kind of pushing each other, keeping each other accountable, helping each other.”

“Kenny’s going to be making these decisions. I do know that we’ll be playing together for a lot of the time. I guess, on paper, I’m the point guard and I’ll make a lot of the point guard plays, which I’ve spoken to Kenny about and that’s obviously going to be the case. That’s what they brought me here for.

“But I think I’m going to learn how to make [Russell’s] life easier and vice versa, and I think we’re going to be able to play off each other and complement each other. I think having two dynamic, downhill players, one on each side — he’s a lefty, I’m a righty — presents some problems for the defense.”

We’re going to miss that one-on-one, back-to-the-basket presence, just to be able to score when you really need a bucket,” Lin said of Lopez. “But if we can play together, I think we’re going to end up with good shots, and having a lot of guys who are capable of scoring, hopefully”

I would expect between 18-20 ppg. 5-6 assist. 3 reb. On solid efficiency. Somewhere close to what he did after the all star break last year. Anything more than that would be a pretty big leap from last season.

[language warning for work]

I...think I remembered this from last season? Deep down, I think Dloading wants to be a good teammate and be accountable. How does that NOT mesh with Atkinson, JLin and the Nets, huh?

I'm getting more optimistic on Dloading by the day.

Watch the highlights for this game which includes the full post-game interview + the amazing game winner he hit on TJ McConnell. I remember watching this game like it was yesterday, it was so fun to watch.

That clip always makes me laugh. Its summer league, nobody gives a f.

But yeah, when you look at the context, its just another reason to like the guy. Dude just hit a game winner and is making sure everybody knows he wasn't the hero. Awesome.
