Do the Sixers have the playmaking to survive more aggressive defensive schemes in the playoffs? It doesn't look like it. Boston does it to them every season and we certainty have the personnel for it...

Still think Nash should have put KY back in when it was a 3 point game. Robbed us of a nice highlight finish. Alize as your crunch time #1 option won't do it although it was entertaining

The answer to that is no.

The Sixers will likely not even get to BKN in the ECF's. But if you guys want to close the whole ball of wax you will have to be able to defend the Lakers or Clippers. It's a tall task with your defensively challenged roster.

How do you BKN fans see an ECF with Milwaukee going down?

I dont see milwaukee making it that far. I'd expect to see miami or boston.

If we face the bucks i expect a sweep. we are a nightmare matchup for them.

im not worried about defense. when we are focused and it becomes a halfcourt game in the playoffs we will get the stops we need. Just look at all the games this year vs good teams. we have destroyed teams and gotten stops. The clippers cant stop us. we have already seen that twice. and we handled them. Denver? nope. Utah? nope. Pheonix? nope. Clippers? nope.

The Nets know the regular season doesnt matter. its why we lose to bad teams so often

lol

Nets will need to score 150 as they have nobody who can stop Embiid, Giannis, LeBron, AD etc etc etc

Defence matters

Some games LMA should play, some games we should rely on Claxton and DJ more.

There should be no fixed rotation at center. Period

I disagree. I think there is nothing more pivotal to our playoff success (other then health) then having at least 30 minutes of a pick and roll big. Our offense goes from great to unstoppable with a pick and roll big. The entire point of having elite spacing is so that the paint is wide open to get easy shots at the rim and nothing easier then an alley-oop.

There are times you need small ball and times 5-out can help. give me 18 minutes of LMA or blake at center or small with green. but i need 30 minutes of claxton or DJ.

When Harden is back and we get the flow going again with Durant and Kyrie we are going to blow them out. I saw Simmons laughing when they got up 20. Reality hit him and Embiid at the end. You could feel it. That was the feel good vibe even though we lost.

Why would we need to stop Embiid? I mean the we wont face the Sixers. they will get knocked out before we would get to play them. and even if we did, Embiid can score 45 and we could still comfortably win because philly has nothing outside of him offensively. Stopping a center is not even remotely a priority. this isnt 1985. Nets need to just do a bit better on 3-point shooters. but over 7 games, no one is outshooting us from deep.

Gianns? lol. we guarded him with deandre jordan last time we beat them. Playoff giannis is a complete non-threat. The bucks are a layup for us. id be thrilled to see them.

Nets defense has been 12th in the NBA since Claxton came back from injury. Will get even better once KD is 100%. We have plenty of D. people saying the nets cant stop anyone have not watched the nets. the games we give up alot of points we simply arent engaged. the games we lose to horrible teams like the pistons that we play like 10% effort. when we play good teams and lock in, we get stops. look at the clippers games. look at the lakers game when lebron played. look at the denver game. look at the utah game. look at the boston and miami games. look at the suns game. look at the portland game.

the 76ers are idiots. they had 2 chance to make a trade that would have made them a lock for a title. harden and lowry. the passed on both. now they may lose in the first round

Yeah you could see it in the KD/Kyrie exchange when kyrie came out. KD said "lol we good" then Kyrie just gave him a cheeky smile. Philly knows it too.

Simmons thought he was gonna come out, shut down kyrie, and intimidate us or something. Kyrie slep walked to like 40/10 on 20 shots driving past simmons at will, finishing right past embiid like he was a statue and making thybule consider a career in sales.

I feel bigger guys can't really check Kyrie. He's just so quick and crafty with his angles he can get his shot anytime. Big guys with their longer strides struggle big time matching Kys footwork. Bledsoe and the Bucks did a comparatively better job on him than Klay/Iggy and the warriors.

And I'd never willingly listen to a national broadcast. They're all terrible except Mark Jackson and JVG who I find entertaining in short doses. VPN + international league pass and you can get nets broadcast anytime you want.

I get that the bench mob brought us back to within 3 points. and I support nash rolling with them to close it out after they went on a 21-2 run. Would have loved to see Kyrie, but i get it. But i mean, can you have at least subbed out TLC for Harris or something?

Embiid is a flopping whore.

I don't think we need to worry about a 1 seed or about philly in the playoffs. they are the same fraud paper tigers i thought they were coming into the season. I dont see how they can get by miami/boston in the first 2 rounds. those teams are just better. especially in a halfcourt game. i thought doc might change that. he helped a ton. but its not enough. Simmons is just to big a liability and outside embiid there offense is just weak. its why they underachieve in the post season.

All this tough talk from simmons about "you need to be able to play defense too" but Kyrie and a cast of backups, 3rd stringers and 10-day guys just dropped 115 on them with their eyes closed.

I'd like to see the Alize, Clax and bench mob earlier in games especially for a day like today where there was an evident lack of energy all game long. Even Kyrie felt reserved and lethargic today despite his offensive brilliance, a bit of Alize could have gotten him going.

Not that I ever want to see TLC in a lineup but I thought Joe Harris was horrible on both ends tonight. He did play just yesterday and had a great game, so maybe it was tired legs but he was arguably our worst player tonight. TLC is a complete scrub by now but he does work hard out there and definitely played his role in that run (defensively).

You literally got swept with Daniel Theis guarding Embiid for a series.

I don't care if Embiid averages 30/12 you need offense from somewhere else.

Simmons is an offensive liability who will soon become unplayable in the playoffs. Good luck winning 5 on 4 on offense when we have 3 guys who can erupt for 40 on any given night.

Your supposed elite defense got torched by Kyrie tonight even though he had no help and we shot 20% from 3.

You really have to applaud the job doc has done there. he took a team of loser-attitude prima donna super flawed team with tons of liabilites into a regular season powerhouse. unfortunetly, in the playoffs, all flaws get exposed.

Im just shocked they didnt trade simmons for harden. or add lowry. both moves get them to the finals. harden move wins them a title.

Neither team wanted to trade with the Sixers

Rockets traded Harden for a stale packet of chips rather than deal with Morey

Raptors kept Lowry, he’s now injured, they’re tanking and he’s free to walk in the summer

Great business

What coach responds in a comment section on Instagram with a philosophical quote? Only one guy on this team does it often.

It’s not a slight towards Nash. It just shows how different of a dynamic we are as an overall team.

I don't think Houston wanted to trade for Simmons. The offer was made for sure.

Lowry I'm not sure why they didn't do it.

To be honest, Philly is still young and can target the next big star possibly. I wouldn't criticize them for not going all in right now.

Beal would be a huge move they could possibly make this off season.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
