He's got the energy that this team needs (Acy, Booker) with a good support team behind him he'd be a great addition. Being able to play both positions is a plus.

I think Justin Jackson could have a shot at dropping to #22, and we should be allover that if he does.

A commenter on ND posted that Chris Boucher is this year's Caris Levert. Recently turned 24 but only started playing basketball at 19. He's so low in the draft because he tore his ACL:

Actually, it is. He's downplayed the idea of trading up since April and we haven't really worked out a lot of prospects mocked from 10-18.

Re: Brooklyn Nets 2017 Draft Thread
Marks has pretty much been vague when asked about his two picks. This really doesn't come as a huge surprise, but other than Portland I just don't see a team that would trade down.

Trade down? Portland is trying to trade out of the draft. They literally can't sign any players they draft b/c they're so deep in the luxury tax. The Nets can probably take their 15th pick for a salary dump, which the Nets will hopefully use to draft Patton

Oh but you can't take him serious.... everything said from point x to the draft is all part of misdirects and smokescreens with a hint of validity....
For a talent deprived team, a move up for a more coveted prospect is normal and expected.

How much can we move up realistically? I heard the talent level drops off after 10-12.

I doubt they trade out completely. It's likely they keep 15, but try and trade the other two with a salary dump. But Paul Allen is rich and competitive as hell too so he might just keep it all and pay the tax.

He downplayed the ability to, which is true. Teams don't typically want multiple late first rounders. It's a Quality over Quantity league.
Just because we haven't heard about working out guys in the 10-18 range, doesn't mean we haven't. It also could be simple due diligence. Marks is assessing who would be willing to trade down for multiple picks, a salary dump or a player (e.g. Lopez or RHJ), and what the cost would be. Marks has always stated that he targets players not picks, so there has to be one or two guys that he feels could slide into striking distance (perhaps a Collins, Mitchell or even Monk), and if said player does, he will know where he can get to. It mirrors what the backstory behind the Spurs trade for Leonard.
Marks did also mention that he liked having multiple picks, so there is a chance that he also knows of an avenue (take on salary, trade Lopez or RHJ) to secure additional picks.

I'm sold.
he isnt really a good shooter or proven shooter. might be too undersized to play center. doesnt move well laterally. i love his hustle and athleticism. but there are a half dozen bigmen or more who shoot it better from 3 then he does.
id be ok with him, but he is way down my list where id prefer if we landed him in round 2 somehow
Yeah he's an above the rim athlete first but he's been impressing teams with his range in workouts.Three-point shooting range isn’t required of NBA centers, but in these days when spacing and versatility are at premium, it can only help Bam Adebayo.
Adebayo, who played his final high school season in High Point, N.C., before going to Kentucky, was one of six draft candidates at a Charlotte Hornets workout Sunday. At the end of each pre-draft workout, the Hornets have all players take five NBA three-pointers from each of five semi-circle spots.
Adebayo, who missed the only three-pointer he attempted in his single college season, swished 13 of 25 attempts in that drill. Granted, Adebayo was shooting unguarded, but that accuracy didn’t surprise him.
“I’ve been shooting the ball since I was 12 years old. I was always getting better,” Adebayo said. “I wasn’t asked to do it (from the perimeter) at Kentucky because we all played our parts; we all sacrificed certain stuff.
“In these workouts, I can more do what I want, so I show them what I can do.”
Kentucky Coach John Calipari has churned out a slew of one-and-done NBA prospects, including big men Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, and Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Calipari predicted last month that Adebayo would be a lottery pick (a top-14 selection). Charlotte has the 11th overall pick.
Adebayo averaged 13 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks last season. He is sometimes compared in physique to eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard.
“I see the body type (similarity); I’ve got wide shoulders, he’s got wide shoulders. I’m muscular and he’s muscular. We’re both 6-10 and above,” Adebayo said of Howard.
Sunday was Adebayo’s ninth and final workout before Thursday’s draft.
“The stressful part is the airports; going through security,” Adebayo said. “One day it can be short and the next day you think, ‘God, this line is so long!’”
That won’t be a problem in the future. NBA teams all fly charter.

I'm a huge advocate of Bam. I've been telling everyone how good this guy really is. This guy has a face-up game as well. This guy has the talent to produce ridiculous numbers. I have no idea where Prok is getting his info from his "lack" of lateral quickness. Since this guy is probably the most explosive big man coming out of this years draft.

This has to be a large trade. Don't think Mark is willing to come out of a trade with less picks. Two for two w/ off loading, I wonder who could that be. Were getting 15th and 20th pick.
Spoiler:
