PG D-Will
SG J.J.
SF G.Wallace
PF P. Milsap
C A. Jefferson

Rebounding is part of defense and here we'd have it and while having a real PF

Wow.

haha, I just did a ninja edit on my old post and included his name.

I definitely think we need a guy like him or Redd off the bench who is a true SG.

If the Celtics can work a Lee, Bradley, Terry rotation I'm sure we could work a Johnson, Brook, Bell rotation of shooters.

I don't see it happening. Already have ''too many'' rotational players.

I know people keep saying we lack assets and therefore the likes of Josh Smith are off the table but your forgetting how much of a factor his impending free agency really is.

It's basically exactly the same situation as Howard was in last season where he said either you trade me to Brooklyn or I walk to Dallas (or replace Dallas with any legit team with any cap) in the off season. Then ATL are in between a rock and a hard place, either trade him to BKN for as much as they can get or lose him for nothing in the summer because no team will trade for Smith without assurances of him re-signing in the summer.

Nene could be had for minimal cost so could be the best option available to us while he is also a very good PF.

Here's an idea:

Atlanta In: Nene, Brooks Out: Smith
Wizards In: Hump, 2 1st round picks Out: Nene
Brooklyn In: Smith Out: Hump, Brooks & 2 1st round picks

Atlanta can play Nene center to finally let Horford move to his natural PF position while also getting the Atlanta native in Brooks to help out quite a poor group of guards outside of Teague and Williams.

The Wizards cut their loses and embrace the tank. By getting rid of Nene they get two 1st round picks to add to their own picks while also gaining someone who could actually bring back some value at the 2014 trade deadline by creating cap room for some team while bring back further picks. Basically this move increases their tank mode while boosting their draft picks.

Brooklyn get a top level PF with good defensive qualities to partner Lopez for the next 5years plus.

Atlanta starters:

Teague
Brooks (could play Williams with Brooks at SF maybe)
Korver
Horford
Nene

Wizards:

Wall
Beal
Ariza
Hump
Okafor

Brooklyn:

Williams
Johnson
Wallace
Smith
Lopez

NIN, I don't see Atlanta taking on Nene's salary. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll like the idea of him and Horford though, but I just don't know.

Also, I'm wondering how keen we'll be to give up 1sts for Smith when we could probably snag Nene for nothing more then Hump and maybe MarShon. Maybe even just Hump?

The Bulls just gave him a sizable contract extension. It's way more likely that Boozer will get amnestied before Taj gets traded.

Also, I'm calling it now BTW.

Minnesota will be in the middle of a big 3 or 4 team deal, maybe a full blockbuster with Derrick Williams moving on.

Ya with L.A., except I don't think it will be a blockbuster. I called Gerald Henderson from Charlotte to Minnesota with Williams to L.A. (Hill becomes Charlotte's guy next to Mullens. I was hoping to get Marshon from you guys in a deal but that's not working out if Hill is in that deal.

Varejao for Hump and pick. Varejao would make us better defensively, but an injury liability.

Nene would not be good for us. Boozer would be mediocre. Smith or Horford would not be sent to us for the crap we have.

Don't see us making a move this year. Maybe getting rid of Brooks and Teletovic while they still have trade value for something that is a better fit or a pick.

Why would Nene not be good for us?

Also, starting to re-warm up to the idea of Millsap some.

Considering one guy is barely getting into games and the other guy isn't even suiting for games, I would do it.

He would be coming off the bench though, while he's a starter in Portland.... I'm sure he wouldn't be too happy.

I said it a couple days ago about getting Williams. I think he might be a good fit for the team.... we would have to move Hump though and probably find a third team and I think that would be pretty difficult.

What "contender" is looking for a solid rebounding PF?? And DON'T say the Knicks, lol

im not a big derrick williams fan, but you are correct in that he is what we need. we really dont have any super athletic guys who play above the rim. wish we had retained gerald green
