Smart man, I hop Caris LeVert had the same thoughts.
It will be interesting to see how this offense works. The difference between the Nets and the Phoenix Suns that predated them is that the Nets have two elite half court scorers in the line up.
Kyrie is going to feast on those drag screens in transition.![]()
To me, Jarrett Allen is a better fit for this style of play than DeAndre.

All the players are saying the right things. We'll see if that translates to on the court. That first preseason game is gonna be analyzed like Game1 of the NBA finals by Nets fans

If healthy i like your team come out of the East. Two stars with a great supporting cast. Biggest question mark is health.

I feel for him. Although he's a great long term prospect, others will leapfrog him if he can't stay healthy.

Agreed, his health is starting to become a concern, and he is missing these vital development opportunities (first the bubble, now training camp).ecuhus1981 wrote:MrDollarBills wrote:Nic Claxton is out for training camp with Jumpers knee.

If Nash comes out with Allen as the starting C i will laugh my ass off. Jordan needs to check his ego.

Levert and Dinwiddie seem committed to their roles. They want to win a Championship. Its great to see.

Everyone wants to know who will be the 5th starter next to KD, KI and Joe. You could throw a name in a hat, I'd be OK with whichever guard/wing meshes best with the stars. The MUCH bigger variable in our development is whether Jarrett starts.
Now, he can't poop the bed in training camp, he's got to bring his A game and bring the intensity consistently. DJ is still a good rotation player, and is capable of stealing the starting spot by his own merit if Allen rests on his Orlando laurels. Nash has a whole different criteria of needs from his coaching predecessors, and JA will have to adapt. I believe he will, and it puts us in a much better position to win.

I am almost as excited to see how Big Jay's game progresses as I am to see Kevin Durant. This is a contract year for Jay and he is too smart to not bring it 100%.
Very disappointing to see Nic injured again. He already missed a significant amount of time. We have seen and heard what he is capable of doing on the floor. At this point I just hope he gets the opportunity.

Allen's got to maintain consistent aggressiveness throughout the season, I agree.
KD and Kyrie will be on his ass if he doesn't. What I saw from Jarrett in Orlando is a guy who realized that he has to bring max effort every night or his spot can be taken. Let's see how that translates to this year where expectations are that we will be playing in July.

#3 seems a bit high but I like it. Somewhere in the 6-10 range is probably more accurate tho

Re: Nets Media Week & Training Camp Thread
So from piecing together/stalking the bits and pieces of footage so far from Nets social media, the 2 main lineups in scrimmages are:
1st unit: Kyrie, Din, Harris, KD, DJ.
2nd unit: TJ, LeVert, Shamet, ? , Allen.
I honestly like Din in the starting lineup, at least to start the season because he prob fits better next to KD/KI, especially as a spot up shooter and defender. This way, it free up space for Caris to be our Manu Ginobli (as Nash has hinted at). Caris could run the 2nd unit(like he did in the bubble) and easily finish games. Plus he has so much good chemistry with Allen, those two should play together as much as possible.
Of course this could just be the lineup for one practice session

The problem with this shortened camp is that Nash doesn't have a lot of time to experiment to see what may work best. Dinwiddie is an even worse defender than LeVert so that concerns me, but on the offensive side who is most likely to knock down a catch and shoot three? Spencer.
By the way did anyone see the media day pics of the Nets? Those city edition uniforms look amazing on them.

Re: Nets Media Week & Training Camp Thread
We've heard it before but just one more example. Redick on his podcast said he was talking to someone from the Nets (not sure if it's a player or staff member) and he said KD looks REALLY F'n good
Also I wouldn't look too much into the training camp lineups. Couple of the guys said that early on they were just mixing and matching, not necessarily going 1st unit / 2nd unit. I've always felt like Dinwiddie could be a nice fit in the starting lineup but he gets SO passive when playing next to ballhandlers. Ideally, his rim attacks + spot up shooting should be good next to KD + Kyrie.

I think Jordan's ego is fine. several players complained about not having defined roles under Kenny. I think DJ would be happy with a role if its consistent and communicated to him. There was a 3 week stretch where he was sdrastically playing a struggling allen. i can see where if thats happening, your minutes stay the same or even diminish, and there is no communication your role how thats frustrating.
the idea he demanded to start and wanted kenny fired is a poor media twist of what i think the actual narrative was
