I am waiting to see contract details. I would not be surprised if the contract isn't guaranteed. I think Marks wants to maintain maximum flexibility until the deadline and buyouts.

Good signing and low risk move with decent reward. We needed bigs with athleticism and energy and this guy will come in with no demands and just be happy running and jumping all game long.

No guarantees he will even be on the roster come playoffs but stranger things have happened. Teams get valuable contributors off the scrapheap every season as it's all about fit and opportunity

I agree with the flexibility angle. Maybe with Stat mentoring him he will surprise us.

I had a feeling Marks was going to bring someone in we completely overlooked. Might happen again. Although I really want to see RHJ back with us.

Move make sense for the short term IMO. I think the team definitely wants to have a role for Claxton who will be back in a couple weeks or so.This guy is a nice stop gap till then. Block shots and rebound in spot mins... slightly better Donta Hall.

Feel like people overreacted to Perry. He only looked that bad on Wed because he was going against Allen who is obvi a legit starter. Not many teams will have that level of player as a backup at C, so Perry will look better vs other teams(like Miami for example) where the matchup is more favorable.

Can always sign a more seasoned vet/buyout if Claxton isn't ready or gets hurt again or a good buyout guy is available like Nerlens Noel.

This is a fantastic pickup. He is an overlooked player, but he provides some great qualities - most notably - defensive presence to protect the rim with the mobility to switch onto smaller players. On offense a rim runner type. Think Nerlens Noel type player.

Lukewarm on this one. I had thought that Marks would give him a look, but I remember him being a foul machine.

Good, this gives Harden some 2 man action, instead of the current small ball line-up.

I like Perry at the 4. I see this as a stop-gap for Claxton.

Any chance he can play Power Forward?

I think Brooklyn needs to play 2 bigs with KD at the 3 to become the defensive team they need to be.

I don't know anything about this guy but I'm willing to give him a chance.

Seems like an athletic big who fouls way too much.

There were other more seasoned bigs on the market so if Marks screwed this up I will be furious. Hopefully he found another gem.

That's his thing, exaggerated and aggressive certainty. It undercuts my ability to take him seriously sometimes.

I've only seen Pelle on YouTube.

But can't wait for his debut. He's better than Perry , Deandre should be kept around 20 minutes to keep his energy high.

Always gonna be a "I'll believe it when I see it" thing with these bigs we pick up off the scrap heap...they're not with a team currently for a reason. Probably because they can't give them quality minutes.

LOL, I mostly agree with your sentiments, but re: Claxton, he literally isn't an NBA player right now...because he's barely played in the NBA, and the last time he played was almost a year ago.

He's constantly injured, and IDK, for a young big to have this kind of issue with his knees for this long tells me this is going to be a constant thing and he's not gonna have a very long career, just because of injuries alone. And on top of all that, he was a 2nd round pick for a reason. He showed flashes, but he was also clearly not a consistent rotation player that warranted significant minutes yet. So he still needs to prove himself as an actual player, on top of actually being healthy enough to get on the court. Two huge question marks imo.

Honestly think we should trade him for more of a sure thing while his value is still there, because this chronic knee issue really concerns me.
