So the drama queen has already found a reason NOT to play in more games this year?

What else is new.

Should have tried to swap him for Bradley Beal last year when I suggested it.

Be prepared to hear from the usual suspects who defend/excuse/enable his selfishness, in 3-2-1 ...

If the Nets do trade Kyrie because he's unavailable to play, there are a few issues.

1) We're taking back nickels on the dollar at best.
2) We must return another ball handler. Our potential downfall would be an injury to Harden or Mills that renders us incompetent at the point when the other sits.
3) We already have a lot of depth, so it can't really be a 1 for multiple type trade. It would likely have to be an expensive, but somewhat lesser player than Kyrie. Maybe the trade partner throws in a pick to make it a little more palatable.

Had we traded Kyrie away, Durant doesn't resign.

I don't want Irving to leave. I want him to act like an adult, get vaccinated, and play ball. This should not be this difficult

EXACTLY, and it's not.

I've already had three of them, the first two and the booster, but Kyrie is a high maintenance pain in the A who is constantly looking for, and finding, reasons NOT to play. He wouldn't know what a leader is if it fell on him.

IMO his constant self-imposed exiles last year probably cost us home court advantage in the east.

This year he got an early start. Forget about the season, he didn't even wait until training camp.

Too many fans confuse talent for leadership. Kyrie is a GREAT TALENT, but he always has one eye on the exit.

Anyway, I don't even think we have the option of trading Kyrie this year and getting fair value in return, strictly from a talent perspective. We probably could have last year, but who wants to trade a player of equal talent to Kyrie, or even close, if they know Kyrie won't even protect himself and the team by taking the Covid vaccination?

Some of you really seem to not get it huh. No Kyrie means there is no KD or Harden. How hard is that to comprehend?

Harden pretty much said " I wont resign if looney toon won't get vaccinated. Money means nothing " . KD aint talking about it but he's going to demand trade the min Kyrie is not part of the team.

If you a true Nets fan than you better hope this flat earth guy gets vaccinated.

Huh?

KD & Harden are focused on winning titles. There's a lot of ring chasing vets on the team with that sole goal as well. Harden & KD will give Kyrie some time, but if it drags out, they'll move on from Kyrie.

Sure they'll move on. It won't be here though. With no picks for 5-7 years to come. Some of you really not comprehending how bad it can get.

By move on, I mean they'll tell Marks to ship Kyrie out. KD just locked in long term. He's not leaving.

i dont know about harden, but im 1000% sure this is not true for KD. rings arent his main or stated goal. its player empowerment and black empowerment. and him and kyrie are close because they share a view that they shouldnt be prisoners of the system and their voice should matter more then the narrative around it. listen to the etc podcasts, if anything KD is supporting ky down whatever road he leads.

cutting or trading KD i think is more likely to make KD leave.

I know you meant KI instead of the first KD, i just had to quote you and poke fun! 8-)

I take your point well, though I see Kevin's extensive recruiting this offseason (Mills, LMA, Millsap) as clear signs that he wants a championship, here and now. He would certainly rather win it with his BFF, and I disagree with you, that trading Irving would send Durant over the edge, into a murderous rage with a trade demand freshly off of an extension. Kevin is nothing if not a pragmatist. He won't throw the Dynasty baby out with the Antivaxxxx bathwater.

Yeah tell that to Harden, Ben etc players who had multiple years on their contract. KD signing contract don't mean damn thing.

it wont happen. because KD has already made it be known that him and kyrie are a package deal, and the nets arent going to poke the bear (KD).

Winning is important to KD. but for him its far from top priority. Empowerment is priority 1. listen to his etc podcast and read the book on the nets 2019 season. it becomes Chrystal clear once you hear it right from KD/KD quoted in the book from an insider who was with him all year

it doesnt matter if KD is a free agent or has 10 year deal. he isnt going to leave because he doesnt want to and is kyries #1 supporter, not someone frustrated by his "antics". Kyrie pushes against the same thing KD does. thats how they became close in the first place.

Goodwill from Yahoo reported that KD putting pressure on Kyrie to get vaccinated. I'm not sure how credible he is. Knowing how KD, Kyrie and Marks with leaking/taking to media makes me really question.

Bottom line here is, if Kyrie won't get vaccinated he will piss most of his supporters up. Trust me KD will feel no different. He may not want to admit he came here for his legacy, he 100% did. If Kyrie lets him down their relationship can go south quick.

Kyrie's supporters, friend and teammates support him BECAUSE of instances like these... not in spite of them. Kyrie cant let KD down on this one, because they both have the same view. its and indvidual choice, and no one should tell a black man what to do with his own body, or really anything that isnt their business.

KD for a fact did not come here for legacy, or to win titles. he said so many times, including on his own podcast, in context, without spin

Keep telling it to yourself and see how this can blow up if Kyrie won't get vaccinated. As grown as man you should know friendships and business don't go hand to had all the time. This can and will get ugly. This looney tune better get his act together.

So, when he gets the shot. Is he still a “looney toon” or you go around slick with words in public like this to other peoples just the same? He doesn’t owe us ****. No athlete in sports does.

Keep that same energy, win or lose.

Again, KD and Kyrie are tight BECAUSE of this, not in exception to it. Taking stands and being empowered is what fuels both of them. They didnt team up because they both like pokemon and all of a sudden KD is like "huh this kyrie dude puts weird crap before basketball"

Read KDs essays, listen to KDs podcast (specifically the ones with kyrie on) and read the book about the 2019 nets.

do that, and it is abundantly clear basketball is not #1 priority for either (while still a major priority for both) and that both put empowerment and supporting personal choice first.

i dont know about hardem, but for KD/Kyrie this is why they bonded
