I cannot believe that the Kings traded Tyrese Halliburton. Oh my god their owner needs to be booted out of the league

Re: Official Trade Deadline Thread: Ends 2.10 @ 3 PM EST
I think moving Harden by the deadline is the wrong move. I think it makes this year a throw away. And you cant throw a way any of the final years of prime KD.
In the offseason, I 100% want to turn Harden into Simmons or a flipped Simmons. Even if Harden doesnt decline any further (which is unlikely) I dont want this version of Harden for 5 years.
If we end up signing Harden long term in the offseason I can live with it for the short term but its not ideal. If we lose Harden for nothing i can live with it. Its worst case but im fine with the upside of taking on the risk he walks for nothing.
If we deal harden in-season im only fine with it if it gets us an ideal return which i classify as:
-Simmons
-at least 1 of Maxey/Thybule
-at least 1 of curry/Korkmaz
-Green
-at least 1 first
Otherwise ill take Harden for this year and hope to settle on at least Simmons in the offseason

Re: Official Trade Deadline Thread: Ends 2.10 @ 3 PM EST
Lets Speculate some worst case trade deadline...
Marks takes a lowball offer of Simmons + Curry + 2023 1st.
That allows us to move off Joe Harris and give us another 1st to play with in a trade. We could Deal Harris _ philly 1st, plus our 2028 1st plus cam to bring in wing and we could match up to 40 million depending on who we include.
Or we could keep harris and field the greatest shooting team of all-time...
ATL in: Ben Simmons, Brown
ATL out: Bogdanovic, Collins, 2024 1st (heavy protected 1st that becomes 2nds if not conveyed)
Why: Turn Collins into simmons, dont break the bank for it. Add a role defender
PHI in: Harden, Milsap
PHI out: Simmons, Curry, Green, 2023 1st
Why: Get Harden without giving up Maxey/Thybule
BRK in: Collins, Bogdanovic, Curry, Green 2023 Philly 1st, 2024 ATL 1st
BRK out: Harden, Milsap, Brown
Why: Get a return on Harden and look to turn things around. Turn Simmons into a better fit and field the greatest shooting team of all-time. Recoupe some picks
Kyrie | Curry | Harris | KD | Collins
Bench: Mills | Bogdanovic | Green
I think that is still a contender and the spacing is absurd. how do you help or even hedge on a pick and roll? even when the nets go to to the bench you have absurd shooting. Yeah there are defensive issue but is the D really any better with Harden there instead of Curry?

That's the worst defensive lineup ever. Kyrie, Curry and Harris?.. LOL. So you have great spacing but no rim protection or perimeter defense.. Yikes.

We still have KD. I wouldn't consider ourselves dead in the water.

Worst defensive lineup? IDK is Harden/Claxton really much better then Curry/Collins?
You can also go Claxton for Harris at anytime and have
Kyrie | Curry | KD | Collins | Claxton
Collis is athletic and switchable. Kyrie is a plus defender when it matters

without full time Kyrie and the list of injuries it's not looking good. If Harden has told them he's gone you can't risk losing him. Who's going to carry the load right now with Kyrie playing 10 out of 29 games?

without full time Kyrie and the list of injuries it's possible the season has already been punted. That's if Harden has told them he's gone. Who's going to carry it? That means getting what you can otherwise he's going to walk.
"otherwise he is going to walk" is not a scenario that has any kind of realistic likelyhood.
Harden for Simmons straight up in the summer is 99% likely still available. Maybe you miss out on the throw ins with picks or curry. but you get 1 more run with Harden/KD/ half of Kyrie
For Harden to walk for nothing Portland OR the spurs would need to take on Tobias Harris for less then 2 first rounders and then one of orlando/detroit/Houston would need to give 2 first rounders for simmons.
The total return would then be Harden + 1st rounder for Simmons
Otherwise, its just losing Simmons and getting Harden. and if your losing simmons for harden you may as well just make the deal with the nets and eliminate the risk you make those trades and harden gets cold feet.
The ONLY real chance of Harden walking for nothing is if the 76ers trade Harris for expirings at the deadline. Which hasnt happened yet.

we weren't winning anyways, Celtics are now fully healthy and we would only have Harden with rookies and poor shooting.

This celtics team has lost and even been blown out by worse teams then we will field tonight. they lost to G-league 10-day rosters at home like we did to the clippers. They are playing better now though...
Honestly Nash needs to motivate the team. This isnt the '98 bulls. were at home. bring effort and we should be able to compete. Nash cant get these guys to play hard... which i think is part of KD's "everyone needs to be committed"
I think the team is too complacent waiting for KDs return
I also dont think Harden quit on us. He has been legit injured for a while. He missed a game 2.5 weeks ago with a hamstring. he is clearly slowed by it. He isnt as out of shape as he was early. its a physical thing, not an effort thing.

Either he’s indeed hurt or a serious trade talk is really happening.

He is 100% hurt.
The question is rather
1) He is just hurt
2) He is hurt AND there are serious trade talks
But he is absolutely dealing with something Physical. Returning from the layoff before christmas was the only time he looked close to himself, but a few 40 minute nights and he was backed to looking beatup and slower. I dont think he is past the hammy. it worried me the second it first popped up on an injury report in early January

I think if he is mentally checked out you have to trade him now. Simmons might even fix the defensive situation and in turn the fast break points and scoring with benefit too. Plus get one of their shooters that alleviates the hole Harris left.

If you have shot to collect Simmons/Maxey, you do it and just live with whatever result this season brings. It sucks, but let's be real here, Mandate or no mandate, Kyrie be unavailable for most of the season and Harden declining has hurt us and this is not the same big three we envisioned last year.
