Curry adds a much needed shooter and drummond provides another big body for us an makes Claxton or Sharpe a trade piece in a potential deal to land Grant.

Today was a win for us. Yall wanted to really hold Harden hostage after you bitched about him sucking for MONTHS? LMAO. make up your minds.

Yes Harden sucks. But so does Simmons.

We are ****.

We will not win anything this year.

Simmons was never going to play for the Sixers again, so giving them Harden strengthens a division rival tremendously. They'll have elite offense in Harden and Embiid and their team defense should be great with Embiid and Thybulle. We all know that Harden is a good post defender as well.

This is a head scratcher for me.

Harden (per Woj) clearly preferred a trade. It was going to happen at some point. Accommodating stars/players is good business and how we got to a place were stars want to come here. There are some fringe benefits as well:

1) Short term, we can win some games, maybe crawl out of the play-in. Harden wasnt going to play and is hurt anyhow
2) We are much more likely to financially keep the team together. What Simmons is owed 40% less then what harden would have gotten
3) While id rather play it out and settle for less, we would always get a better return now then the offseason... i dont buy there was a real risk we lose him for nothing, but it would have been closer to just simmons.

When healthy, we have one of the greatest shooting teams in a long time.

Kyrie | Curry | Mills | Harris | KD

That is filthy. I know your not starting that unit but you can play 6 minutes with that death lineup and also have easily have 4 of them on the court at once.

Or we turn one of them into a bigger shooter.

Considering Harden's value and that Simmons wasn't even playing for the Sixers, I feel like we should've received more.

If the Nets really backed down on Maxey and then backed down on Thybulle as well, it seems really passive from Marks. I would've pushed hard for Thybulle. I've liked him for a few years now.

Nets win this trade, Harden has declined and I think there will be issues chemistry wise in Philly and Harden will choke when it matters most. Simmons is a beast defensively who will work on his game and Curry/Mills will be a dynamic duo as spot up shooters. Also, Woj says Nets ain't done, I smell a Joe Harris/Clax/Pics trade coming very soon for a J.Grant type of player. Nets will be formidable.

We certainly increased our ability to win short term.

We wont get bullied on the glass with Drummond. We wont lack shooting now, and we wont lack defense now.

Simmons | Kyrie | Curry | Kessler | Drummond

Mills | Bembry | Brown | Claxton

you can win with that team until KD is back

based on how he looked in that Sacramento game, yes.

Considering it was rumored that Mills would need to be included I'm alright with this trade. Just sucks we couldn't nab at least Thybulle as well.

I'd imagine Drummond will be flipped in another deal or be bought out.

Also I'm fine with getting two FRPs. We'll need to be able to retool fast if thing fall through with the KD-Kyrie core.

Yep. Simmons can ramp up over ASB and we add another shooter to the mix to help with spacing. Hopefully Marks has one more trade left

As I mentioned in another thread, I really like this trade. Now the team has 3 elite shooters(Curry, Mills, Harris), legit size (Ben, Drummond, Aldridge) and picks to trade.

We will be flipping Clax + picks + trash for wings/backup PG.

Wing Targets:
Jerami Grant
Harrison Barnes
DeAndre Hunter

PGs:
Any ideas?

Here's to hoping Simmons bucks up and plays like he did to start his career... Also my gut says Joe is done for the year, anyone have an update?

I'd be fine with how he played last year:

15/8/7 on 59 TS% and All-NBA defense

Alot is put on the playoffs and that meltdown but he was a fantastic player last season. fantastic. Embiid is great but you could double him. We have Kyrie/KD who can get their shot off against anyone and its hard to double both

Did harden decline or did he actually stop trying? I watched the kings game and he look like he quit. He needs to lose weight for sure.

So yeah kind of what I expected with Harden. Back to looking interested in playing again.
On Curry declining

All in all not the worst thing in the world, the Harden I've been seeing this season didn't give me full confidence he'd live up to a $200m contract for years to come, and I certainly won't miss his defense. But given this is Harden, I'd guess he'd come out for Philly playing like MVP Harden.

I think all Nets fans would agree that we would be really upset with this if the Harden this year looked like the Harden we had last year.

Harden turning down that extension may turn out to be a big blessing

Hope our day isn’t over Bruce/Nic/Carter/Cam aren’t needed. Would be nice to get a wing and/or an actual stretch five.
I accept for a fact they aren’t ever moving Joe. He’s valued only 2nd to Durant by this team. Very clear.

Marks and Morey are smart GMs...

they wont let this deal go final until they suck all the value out of it. They will bring in a third team to take ancillary pieces and get the bang for their buck on the salary matching that is allowed with Harden involved.

We have alot more then we started the day with for smaller trades. We can now trade:

-3 1st round picks
-Harris
-Claxton/Brown/Milsap/Carter/Johnson
-Cam/Sharpe/Duke

If we can land Dragic in the buyout and make some smaller moves we look really great not just this year but the next few

Marks just had a terrible off-season traded for players all year this board said they didn’t want. He let go of why they were the best offense. Idc if you made a 8th seed. He fumbled the easiest dynasty ever. Marks is a bum. He has to win. Got your imitation Warriors team. Congrats.

Nothing in my soul tells me they are trading Joe. They didn’t want to trade him for James Harden. They certainly not trading him with Ben on the roster. I know your beliefs on spacing but no.

Cam, Nic, Brown, Carter are the pieces that are likely to paired to get someone and hopefully it’s a god damn 3&D wing. Patty, Curry, Joe, Kessler, LMA is great that’s a huge plus. A wing now allows for Ben to Draymond the backend while that person that’s on the backcourt threat.
