Just a thought , but a big part of me believes that if JO was traded somewhere like NJ/LA , then those "injuries" would be a lot less painful. JO is still only 29 and yes he has had injuries, but a lot of that is due to Pacer management not getting him help and JO being banged to death everynight. If we trade JO to you for VC, I guarantee it will be the Nets with a far better record at the end of the season then the Pacers. It's not that VC is not good, but we need solid prospects because were not in contention right now, but you would be

PG J Kidd
SG A Wright
SF R. Jefferson
PF J O'Neal
C S. Boone

That squad will match up with Boston, Orlando, Detroit, much better than the current one, In my opinion,

I honestly don't think that they'll get rid of Sean and Marcus, 90's BB.

I'd be thrilled with just one of the two. Although I would suppose that Nets fans, (no knowledge, sorry), would rather keep Sean > Marcus?

At least your front office thinks so...

Taking an injury sattled JO and his $20 million dollar anual salary is a mistake... Send VC to New York for a youngern and better package...

how do I get this to work?

Rush and JO for Vince, Marcus, Magliore and Bookie seems all right to me.

That trade doesn't appeal to me. Why would we give up VC, with an expiring contract in Magloire, a key bench player in Boki, and a promising PG for a shooter and an injured/beat up JO.

I don't want JO. I know that if we make a trade for him, he will be a dissapointment. Pau Gasol is playing so much better and he has a better contract. I would not trade Sean & Marcus Williams or Josh Boone. Those are my untouchables because they are the future.

Even though I don't want JO. If we had to make a trade i would offer:

VC, Jason Collins, Antione Wright, and a lottery protected 1st rounder

for

JO, Kareem Rush, & a 2nd rounder

We should be going after Pau not JO.

Hell Even Eddy Curry would be better than JO.
Much better contract. Offensive threat. did I mention Much better contract ?

Plus we wont have to give up too much to acquire him I bet.

JO has barely played this season and he's making $$$$$$.
IF we traded VC + MWill or whatever else they want for injury prone JO.
I will be the first one to be at the IZOD center with the banner saying "FIRE THORN."

The problem is that acquiring O'neal is much more realistic than acquiring Gasol.

I make this trade in a second.

We would need to make another move for a combo guard after this but I like it.

If we trade Carter, Williams and Magloire for JO, we'll have deficits in our backcourt. So, to me a trade that would make more sense would be with memphis for gasol and Miller or we could work a trade with Pacers, in which we get JO and some of their SGs, maybe Daniels.
This team really needs a shakeup, though

I'm really confused why everyone would trade our guys for JO. This guy is DONE!!! Injuries have only sped up his already begun decline, he's nowhere near the player he was before when they made those playoff runs with reggie.

I see that there is no real consensus here, but I was wondering, for those who were infavor of the proposed rumor, what if Indy added in Diogu and Marcus was replaced by Sean W.?? If you would be interested in one of our guards, that could be negotiated as well...

I would do Just Carter and Maggy for JO. Its fair for both teams and I think you guys need M.Williams to backup Kidd. I'm not too high on him anyway.

The deal is for a legitimate inside presence. The cost is VC (big contract, uncertain future), big man filler (Magloire), and young PG who is not your best PG. That's all?

I've been telling you guys since the summer that when the Pacers asked for RJ-Krstic-MWilliams, and it was too much (and it was), you might be able to keep Krstic and only trade MWilliams if you could come up with more acceptable filler than Collins. They need a PG. Williams is the guy they really will chase. (And enetric suggested Magloire could be that better filler, once we got past 12/15)

If you do it, you've upgraded on your front line from Magloire to JO. You keep all the other big man talent you have. That's a HUGE step up, no matter what you think of JO.

Losing Carter? RJ is your best swing man.

I'd do the deal in a microsecond.

Right now i would JO for collins mags and allen. He has zero trade value. salaries don't match but i don't see thorn even looking at that trade scenario until the deadline by then the pacers will be panicking to get a deal done. That's when thorn will say 'I would love to help but all I've got is collins mags and allen'

Can we throw in frank for a ballboy? lol

What in that would make it a deal the Pacers would have to do? Nothing. The player they want is a young PG. If they don't get him, why bother? Why not keep their big man that the Nets desperately need?

You may think that JO has no trade value, but he sure would be a MAJOR upgrade (and fill a gaping hole that's been here forever) inside. So what if there is no competition. It's not like the Pacers HAVE TO deal him - if you don't give them something worth their while, they'll just laugh and walk. The Nets need the deal, and Indy doesn't.

And if you don't do this deal, you might as well tear it down and go into rebuilding mode, shipping out VC and Kidd for expiring deals, because your window is closed until you get some kids who can grow into a future contender.

For those that think Gasol is a better answer, then maybe you go there if you can. But I'm not sure he is really available anymore. And JO is.
