Well he's a nice guy to have on a roster with many young players. Positive influence , hard worker .

I like him as a player .

Well Kiki and Rod weren't kidding when they said the roster will change .

Guys, You are also forgetting the most important thing.

The Marketing value of this too.

First we had Yi. Asian audience should flock to the Meadowlands.

Now, Najera. Watch the Mexican and Latin audience flock to the Meadowlands too.

I know there is a Asian communty not to far from the stadium. Damn!!! The latin communities are close too.

The thing that is really scary about this stuff is this quote.

Najera and Hayes are both represented by Dan Fegan, who has a strong relationship with Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe. They got together on several players, including Kenyon Martin and Nene, when Vandeweghe helped run the Denver Nuggets. Fegan also represents new Net Yi Jianlian.

The only way this turns out to be great is that this agent also is Lebrons or another big 2010 FA.

EDIT: I dont know if this is legal or tampering, but Kiki and Thorni need to contact Leon Rose, Lebron's agent. Guess what He is also Rips agent and Rips contract is up the same year as Lebrons options is. I dont know if Rip would leave the Pistons. The Pistons will also have room for 2010. This is going to be real interesting. I wonder if Detroit is one of the cities Nike will offer more to lebron.

Wow talk about stockpiling players. I have no idea what Rod and Kiki are planning, but we clearly have too many guys and not enough minutes.

Fegan and Kiki have a very shady under-the-table relationship. When he was back in Denver, Kiki promised Fegan to re-sign Reggie Evans to a near-MLE contract if Evans would renounce his bird rights to get traded from Seattle to Denver (promising Fegan that contract is illegal under the NBA rules). When Kiki was fired the Nuggets were stuck having to sign Evans even though they already had three PF's ahead of him on the depth chart.

Thats just one example of some of the shady stuff that Kiki get in to. I dont really understand this deal.....Najera is a warrior and a great lockerroom pres4ence, but this is essentially a 2 year $12 million dollar deal, because there is no way Najera has more than 2 seasons left in him. The guy gets banged up all the time and its really wearing on him as he gets older.

Great locker room and chemistry guy for around 2.5 Million in his last years ain't that bad if the contract is really frontloaded even if he doesn't have that much left in the tank by then.

Look last year the Nets made the mistake to dump Jason Collins for Stromile Swift. Even though he was almost worthless on the court Collins pressence in the locker room was missed .

You need guys like that on your team . Every team needs it's Scal , Twin , Najera and whoever else is out there and has a positive influence in the locker room and on young players.

IM LIVID if were going to give a 4 year deal to a guy that we have no need for that why wouldnt we give those year and money to younger BETTER players who FILL A NEED like James Jones, Jannero Pargo, or Keyon Dooling, or even BOKI its absurd.

Come on man we signed two good locker room veteran players to very reasonable contracts .

Thats not a bad thing. Boki just wanted too much money for too long , most likely full MLE for 4 years and there was no way we would offer him that.

And btw we're def. not done yet because there are still some players that need to be shipped and holes to be filled.

Guys i def. expect to be here next season are : Carter , Harris , the 3 rookies , Hayes , Najera , Sean ,Simmons ( nobody will just take him and he wouldn't have been intruduces if we intend to trade him away again ) , Yi and maybe Boone .

But other then that . I don't think the Nets want to bring them back.

Btw i read that Najera's deal is just partly guaranteed in 2010/11 , go figure . Frontload AND partly guaranteed in the key year . You know what that means .

There was no way we where getting that from anywhere but a guy close to someone in our organisation. ( Kiki and Feagan )

Not a bad move, but I would hope and think that they don't see him getting minutes at PF. If all CDR has to beat out at SG/SF is Hayes, Najera, and Hassell then I would expect him to get significant minutes.

My personal guess is he wanted a 3 year deal for ~10 Million . Problem is the Nets didn't want that so they made a 4 year deal out of it with more guaranteed money overall but less where it matters. ( the 2010 offseason ).

Will he be on his last wheels in 4 years ? Probably . But it's not going to matter because he's not very expensive anyway by then .

Welcome Eduardo.

I've always like him, and we've long been missing that energy hustling front court type since kmart left. Though Boone puts up a nice effort -- he's still more finesse , lacking some 'power' I'd like to see. Ed'll make a great rotation on 3/4, and just as important, he'll help our young bigs develop.

Should also help attract more attendence from Mex-Am community. We're getting quite a United Nations of a team ... well, I guess cacel out if we loose Boki and Krstic. It'll still be more internationally diverse than before.

You guys should love Eddie after a few games. Guy does the intangibles as good as just about anybody. He should mainly be getting minutes at the 4, occassionally the 3 and he can also fill the role of emergency center better than you would ever expect. Doubt his career will last much past the next couple years, but he should be a great influence on the young forwards you have.

While I'm sure I'll like Najera's hustle, I'd much rather have Sean Williams in there displaying some hustle of his own...

If some of Najera's hustle and passion jumps over to Sean i'd be very happy .

I'm cool with this move Najera is a hustle player every good team needs, Frank will love him.
Now the Nets have 5 power fowards, 3 shooting guards and a point guard they want to trade.

Swift, KVH, Bobby Simmons, Josh Boone, Sean Williams, Anderson, Hassell, Ager, Marcus Williams
out of these players Kiki will try to get Camby.
I got the burner-Kevin Durant
