He's a good defender that can cover up SOME of their flaws, but it wasn't like he'd get everyone to play defense as well, especially since the leaders of the team never had.
How about their fans blame their front office for fleecing their team for a faux superstar? Oh wait, Donnie's gone. Maybe they can also blame 'Melo for wanting to be a Knick at the trade deadline AND get his money.
It's like Bondy tweeted a few days ago: CP3's toast was a prank, Melo and Amare aren't the ones laughing.
D'Antoni is a terrible coach, not only because he knows nothing about defense, but he doesn't really know much about offense either. They're playing the most disorganized and broken offensive basketball I've seen in a while, and it's because they don't have a PG. Now, I understand that it may sound like it's unfair to expect him to have a good offense without a capable floor general, but then again, he does have two of the better scorers in the league, and the only times he had a good offense was when Billups/Felton were running things. He had an all-time great offense with Nash running things...MDA is touted as an offensive genius, but I think he's just been lucky until now that he's had a capable PG running things that knew what they were doing. His only contribution to offense is telling everyone to run.
And the Knicks have actually been good defensively, 11th in the league so far. Their offense is terrible though, and like I said, it's because MDA doesn't know what he's doing.
