as far as info goes, there is no benefit to the team on giving alot of details and we have no beat writer from most of the big papers to get that info out

and i'm glad. Keep things in house. This is much better than the constant leaks of info coming from Bobby Marks to Robert Windrem's ears

I hate leaks too. But this too much in the other direction. There's a way to give enough information as to not leave fans in the dark about injuries to players. The Patriots announced 8 weeks for Grok. Usually a team gives an estimated amount of time back to play with variables.

He pulled his hamstring in training camp and it took weeks for him to get back on the field with multiple setbacks). Realistically, with Gronk no one in their right mind should be coming back to play a contact sport 8 weeks removed from back surgery but of course if the pats are in the AFC title game they'll try to rush him out there because the NFL doesn't care they'll run the players into the ground because the money is not guaranteed. There's really no incentive for the Nets to put a concrete date out there. He'll play when he's 100%

Does anyone on this forum have any pull to get the Nets management to release more information on Lin? Foye had a slight hamstring pull and he was out less than 2 weeks. On Wednesday Lin will be out 3 weeks. Why won't they tell us if it was a type 1, 2, 3 pull? At least we'd have some idea then when he could possibly return. I think they owe their fans at least that much.

After seeing AJ Green of the Cincinnati Bengals rip his hamstring in half yesterday, I think it's best to allow the Nets' medical staff to stick to their plans for a 100% healed hammy for Lin.

It's November. I'd rather him miss time now than be out for an extended time during the middle of the season because he was rushed back.

My posting activity level tapered off during the days leading up to the election, since I was paying more attention to politics than basketball. And then in the days following the election, like most New Yorkers (registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than 5 to 1 in NYC), I went into a bit of a funk and needed time to process the results, so I was in no mood to tackle the chore of compiling a comprehensive news update.

Same here. Had been reading a lot about related things after the election. What drama. (the injury sucks but it really can't come at a better time)

Exactly what I am thinking. If they are not going to give any estimates after two weeks, they should not have said "re-evaluated in two weeks" in the beginning.

I am super disappointed that Lin is still injured. I think the nets need to come out and manage our expectations, if he has been injured badly. That being said, maybe he needs to chill on the defense abit more and let the role step up on the defense, when he gets back. Ease back until he is full flight then go back to be a 2 way player.

He hurt himself playing offense, he was driving, pulled up, turned awkwardly and passed it. It looked like something I've seen him do a lot of times without getting hurt. This time, he did it in a way that strained his hamstring.

Lin's not going to chill in how he plays. He's going to play on the borderline of reckless, take charges, drive hard to the rim, etc., because that's just how he plays the game. Aggressively. The only thing he could do is a lot of stretches and praying.

Because he wants to be there to support his team and stay involved, keep his stats, see what he can pick up being on the sideline to hopefully run the team even better when he comes back. It's a good thing.
