Seeing him reach his full potential here I'm sure will be somewhat bittersweet for us Laker fans but Idgaf.
I wan't to see him stick it to Magic so bad.

Mozgov looks like he's on cloud nine.

I'm pretty sure that it's safe to say that the Nets are now my (and a lot of Lakers fans) second favorite team.

. Even Woj seemed to suggest DAR had a raw deal in LA when he said DAR would look back at this trade someday and know that it was a good thing for his career. Everyone sees his talent and seems to be excited to see what Atkinson amd the culture they've established in BKN can do with him.

And I think you're right about the sophomore bump -- DAR just seems like a player that will get that effect supercharged

Enjoy the season - I'm psyched to see him next to our guys

I'm so anxious for this kid to lace 'em up. It's been awhile since this type of talent has donned the Nets uni. I'm geek'd just to watch this team in summer league.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

I think Russell's bumpy road in LA has a lot to do with his terrible start in summer league and his rookie season... the expectation and hype were so high on him, but he performed like a subpar Kyle Anderson... the off court issue and overall lakers environment did not help either... he should be glad that now he is in a better situation to set off his career...

Don't let our record fool you. This team plays hard every night. Never in a season where we won only 20 games did I enjoy watching a team more than this, the players are easy to root for. Every game was fun to watch and competitive aside from some games where we were totally outmatched. We also had plenty of games that we had no business winning but did (like versus the Clippers in December). You'll see

Is Gilbert Arenas a good comparison for his upside?

I think what differentiates Gil and Russell was Gil's ability to get to the line. I'm not sure D'Angelo has proven he has that in his game yet.

Will it come with more shot attempts? Can't say - but I just checked the stats and for that short period of time when Gil was a legitimate star...

He could get to the line with the best of them.

I honestly thought about that too. But if that came, solid comparison?

Arenas' production was ungodly before he tore his knee up. Straight up flame thrower. Crazy as they come, but on the court offensively he was one of the best scorers of his generation.

Exactly. And I'm only talking like his ultimate upside, not likely case.

Arenas as a ceiling comparison is no insult, not in the least bit.

If Russell comes within smelling distance of Peak Arenas level play, we'll have to send a fruit basket to Magic Johnson with a thank you card

HAHA Mozgov was soooooooo happy when they asked him if he will be shooting three point shots. He's been wanting to shoot them since last summer. I'm guessing Luke Walton didn't want him to.
